Alright, hotel tour time 😂 Not bad for a work trip… bed’s firm, fridge is cold, vibes are decent. Let’s call this episode 1 of the “How’s My Hotel?” series. #worktrip #hotelcheck #travelvibes #ontheroadagain #corporatetravel

I stayed here for two nights to for work. Upon arrival at 10:45 AM on a Tuesday, the front desk was able to check me in and even offered a complimentary bottle of wine (for their corporate guests). Check in was swift and quick and the hostess mentioned what time breakfast was, where to fill water and that there was a machine for coffee/espresso/hot chocolate for a portion of the day. My room was great except that I was right in front of the elevator. They do provide ear plugs for every room. The hallway noise was not as bad as the street traffic noise. My room was on the 1st Avenue side so i heard sirens, service trucks and the like. I had a large king bed. The room also came with a bench, couch, coffee table, and another sitting area with two plush chairs. There was also a bar area (where the coffee maker was) that had a chair and could be used as a vanity. Outlets were plentiful as were USB outlets. Amenities in the room included: mini fridge, safe, coffee machine, hair dryer, iron, toiletries. The tv had plenty of channels as well as ports for Apple TV or chrome cast or fire stick. The bathroom/shower was very spacious for one person with the hot water coming in rather quickly. This is nice as it sometimes gets cold waiting for the hot water. I never quite figured out the thermostat so I wish there had been instructions. I was rather cold one night and then stuffy the next. Also, to save on resources, I did not request housecleaning. My coworker later informed me that the water refill station also offered sparkling water as well as coconut water but I didn’t see the option otherwise I would’ve taken advantage. Their breakfast offerings include hard boiled eggs, a variety of cereals, yogurt (including Chobani), some muffins, some fruit, granola, coffee and tea. Pretty minimal but definitely nice to have something to grab and go in the morning. The staff in the dining area is very efficient and quick about clean up. Overall, I would stay here again without hesitation but maybe ask for a room not facing 1st Avenue. Staff was friendly and helpful.

This is an email I wrote to the hotel in the interests of helping them improve. I received a short, perfunctory response.||“ I arrived at 2.30pm and my room wasn’t ready, (which isn’t unusual). I was told to return at 4pm. The receptionist was unsmiling, unwelcoming, and lacked any warmth. |I returned at 4pm and my room wasn’t ready.I had to wait until almost 5pm, before my room was available. There was no apology, no offer of water/coffee. Your hotel knew there was a guest arriving for that particular room type, so there are no excuses why it wasn’t ready for my arrival. There is no point in your pre arrival check in, if a room isn’t ready.|Security is an issue. At night, when we returned, the front desk was empty. No key card is required to enter the lobby, nor the lift. Anyone could access any floor.|The room itself screams cheapness, and lack of thought. There was an ice bucket, but no glasses, one shower gown, in a room for two people, ( I asked for second one and was told it was one, per room ), a glass jar in the bathroom, containing one make up removal pad, four different coffee types, not two of each.|The closet in the room just closed one half of the space, exposing either an ironing board or an iron/ice bucket.|The display cabinet in the lobby was virtually empty, which isn’t a good look, but indicative of so much more. |The coffee available in the lobby is just until noon. Why not all day? It would provide a reason to linger in the lobby.|Your e mail system doesn’t function efficiently. I received 11 identical emails from you, re my arrival, (5 in one hour). I have never been hassled by email before to identify my precise time of leaving. I know the check out time, when I leave is when I choose. It occurs your cleaning staff is smaller than is needed, another cost cutting measure.|Valet parking cost is too high.|For context, I stay in hotels for vacation for approx 85 nights each year, and have written almost 500 reviews. There is so much to say about the Bristol, I barely know where to begin. I thought I would write to you directly to share my...

My good feedback... My check in was great, the front desk and valet were very pleasnt, courteous and professional. The hotel has an amazing atmosphere and the rooms are clean, quaint and the beds are extreemly comfortable. The amenities are above and beyond a typical hotel, you can tell they care very much about their property and their guests.

My negative feedback... The housekeeping came and woke me up at 9:30am by knocking on my door and entering the room when my late check out was set for 1pm. Then again she did the same thing just before 12pm. When asking the front desk female if the housekeeping had a roster as to who has checked out she ignored me so then I told her I was upset that they came into my room and woke me up on the one day that I had to sleep in and relax. She then threw her pen and was extreemly rude and condescending, not to mention argumentative. I asked to speak to a manager and all he did was say he would take care of it and went back to the back. I went back in while waiting for valet and watched her help 2 other guests that she was extreemly nice to. I called the manager out and told him that everyone should get the same amount of respect and customer service and she could learn from the guy that worked the evening before that was amazing. Her excuse was that she always throws her pens. This girl does NOT know what customer service is! I was 100% going to keep using this hotel for all my business trips as well as personal trips but after being treated that way, I'm just not sure I will anymore. Her attitude went from zero to one hundred just because I said I wasnt happy with what housekeeping had done. Let me not forget that she kept laughing at me while no laughing should have been involved and of coarse it was every time she was turned away from the camera. Once I told her that she was being rude and condescending she became even more rude and condescending! I was appalled at this treatment, this girl needs anger management and she also needs to know that throwing things with anger in front of guests is no way to get a...
