We arrived at the accommodation to be greeted by an English speaking receptionist who showed us to our suite, looking around my heart sank it was very dated and tatty there were notes everywhere telling you that if you made a noise between 9pm & 9am you would be charged as the rooms were not sound proofed as it was an old building. Also a list of charges if you broke anything or caused damage in any way and many other do's and don'ts. As there was no decent storage space I decided not to unpack, thank goodness as the next morning after being woken early by people walking around upstairs and talking loudly outside our door where there was a communal seating area I decided to get out as soon as possible after having a shower. The evening before there was no hot water so had washed in cold water as there was a note again asking not to waste water so I didn't like to run the tap for long, when I then ran the hot tap on the shower for 5 minutes again there was no hot water by this time I was in tears totally stressed out and thoroughly depressed. My husband fetched a cleaner and she said yes you need to run it for about 10 minutes and have the taps in a certain position! Shame there wasn't a sign explaining that! When I tried to put on my clothes everything was damp as there was no ventilation in the room, no fan in the bathroom and no window. There was a de-humidifier in the bedroom which was full of water that I emptied but it obviously wasn't enough the walls were wet and moldy with condensation and the bedding felt damp. When leaving we asked to see the manager and all of a sudden the receptionist couldn't understand English! All in all an horrendous experience. Having worked in hospitality for the past 45 years I know that in the UK this place would be...

We were traveling for our anniversary in December 2018. We were excited about visiting San Juan but a bit skeptical because we had never been there. We researched and decided to give Old San Juan Rentals a try. From the moment we booked our room until after we left, it was the BEST experience! Our contact person was extremely responsive, she left detailed instructions, I needed additional assistance and the owner made things happen for me instantly, our room was VERY clean, and after we checked out to go on our cruise, the owner extended additional assistance that would help make our entire experience better, when she didn't have to. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! Best kept secret in San Juan. Peace and Blessings to the great people @ San Juan Rentals! We will see you again! From...

I would love to stay here again. Worth the walk up to the top of the stairs. Our suite had two rooms with queen beds when you walked in plus a bathroom and full kitchen. Then you walked out to the center balcony and there were two more rooms with queen beds and a bathroom. Beds were super comfortable. Our power went out while we were there because someone set fire to a power substation. Luckily we had reservations to a restaurant that had a generator. And we had our own head lamps and played cards against humanity in the dark when we got back. Power came back on at midnight. Also didn't have any problem taking...
