Most popular restaurants that open early to serve breakfast are filled up quickly. So if you head out a bit late, you will be waiting on line outside for a seat. I was walking and stumbled appond this restaurant. My wait was about less than 10 minutes appond arriving to be seated. Yet very much worth the wait. This was a delight to come here and hope to come again.
The service was good from the beginning, in other words it was service with a smile. Our waitress was very helpful and came by several times to make sure all was good and if anything was needed. The workers even greeted us as they past by. The breakfast was very good and you have choices to choose from. They have a small train that serves your breakfast if you sit at what seems to be were a bar could have been location at.
Here's the thing, the main owner is from Egypt but married a Puerto Rican woman. So they came to PR and opened a restaurant that serves up Mediterranean food, American classic breakfast and Puerto Rican cuisine dishes. As you read we came in for breakfast. So this location is a win win situation for different times of the day. This restaurant is highly recommend to visit for breakfast hours. I look forward to trying this restaurant again for...
Read moreWe got the meal that is supposed to come with 2 eggs, French toast, toast, and sausage. I ordered my 2 eggs over medium. My boyfriend got scrambled. Both our dishes came with 4 slices of French toast and NO regular toast. My eggs I ordered over medium came back sunny side up. I sent them back and then they returned them over easy. When I let who I believe was the manager know, she seemed annoyed with me. As if I’m not paying for the food I’m ordering lol. She said “No these are cooked medium” and i responded “Maybe we have different ideas of what medium is.” There wasn’t any apologies. She rudely asked if I wanted anything else, at that point I’m thrown off so I said no. I’m also pregnant so it’s easy to make me lose my appetite, and undercooked eggs not once but TWICE will do that. Definitely won’t return! Waiting 20 minutes to pay the check with 2 other tables in the entire restaurant is absurd too, especially when you see a restless 2 year old waiting in a stroller to leave. Then to top it off, we got charged for 2 eggs...
Read moreI really enjoy coming here. This was my second visit, and it was better than the first. The restaurant enjoys a general and good variety of typical middle eastern food. They have a unique way of delivering the food and, If you’re into the holidays, they decorate to fit the theme. My favorite dish has been the falafel platter. the rice with almonds, the hummus, and the salad make a nice combination. It is fairly priced considering it is Old San Juan.
Why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5:
There is some room for improvement. The flavors of the shawarma are not the bold taste you expect. It was not a bad dish, but it reminded me more of Puerto Rican spices than middle eastern cuisine. They also advertise baba ghanouj, but do not serve it anymore. It would be nice if they still made this dish even in small quantities.
I will definitely visit them again. In general, it’s a nice, small, little restaurant. It is perfect if you like a calm environment and just want to eat...
