I stumbled upon the Exotic Gems store in Old San Juan by chance, and I must say, it was a delightful surprise. While my cruise ship docked there, I came across a newspaper mentioning a nearby tanzanite shop and an international diamond store. Intrigued, my family and I set out to find the tanzanite shop. Before we reached our intended destination, we stumbled upon the Exotic Gems store. What initially caught my eye was the "free charm bracelet" poster at the entrance. Though not particularly interested in the bracelet, it piqued my curiosity enough to step inside.

Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by Daniel. Curiously, I inquired about their tanzanite collection, my original goal for the day. To my delight, Daniel proudly guided me to the counter where they displayed exquisite AAA tanzanite pieces. He patiently presented several stunning options for me to try on, ensuring I found the one that truly captivated me. As our conversation continued, Daniel invited his wonderful colleague, Coco, to assist with my inquiries. The encounter was enchanting, incredibly relaxed, and an absolute delight.

I shared how I had stumbled upon their store, and in return, they revealed that Exotic Gems is a cherished family-owned business. Learning this, I felt even more compelled to invest my time and money in a place that not only values its employees but exudes a genuine care that is truly evident.

Coco suggested resizing my ring to ensure it wouldn't slip off my finger. She promptly took care of the resizing on the spot, all while providing detailed instructions on how to return to the ship in a timely manner and guiding me along the route to avoid getting lost. This thoughtful gesture exemplified their commitment to customer service.

Daniel and Coco made the entire experience comfortable and enjoyable, to the point that I eagerly anticipate my next purchase from Exotic Gems. My newly appointed fiancé and I love Exotic Gems jewelry store. It is the only place we go for quality pieces. We have literally been ALL the jewelry stores in Old San Juan and no one matches the quality, expertise, prices, care, attention to detail, and the warm welcome we get when we visit.

When we first visited Puerto Rico, we had no intention of buying jewelry. However, after reading some Google reviews about buying nice jewelry in San Juan at Exotic Gems, we stopped by. We found some high quality yet affordable jewelry as a special keepsake from Puerto Rico.

During our visit in October 2022, Vince showed us the most gorgeous blue sapphire ring I’ve ever seen in my life. My boyfriend proposed on the spot in the store! We are so happy to have shared our engagement story with Vince and Coco! Every day I look at my beautiful one of a kind sapphire ring shine in the sun and smile!

Definitely stop by and ask for Coco. She is really such a wonderful person and she’ll get to know your style/taste fast! She makes the experience amazing and very accommodating. I’ve bought jewelry for myself, my son, friends, and family and have had a great experience every time. I’ve also gotten some things customized from them and they always nail it. I have a small growing collection of their jewelry now and it’s becoming tradition for me to shop with Coco every time I go to Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 There are multiple jewelry stores on that street but they’re not as kind or unique in my opinion. It’s always nice to support a small family-owned business and knowing your money is going to good people! I live in NYC and am surrounded by so much jewelry every day and still I try to only buy from them.
