We were enjoying chatting when we realized more than a half hour had gone by, and we had only gotten our drinks. It was not overly busy when we arrived, but by the time we paid attention to the time and people who came 15 minutes after us were eating, we had to flag the waitress down . She THEN told us it was taking long for the paella with lobster my husband ordered to be prepared. ( something she probably should have told us maybe at least 15 minutes before). She then brought our salt fish fritters and tostones....we've had better. After an additional 20 minutes, my husband's main order came. I had ordered a salad...that never came. I also ordered a cocoa cola that never came. The lobster Paella was not the greatest either. Poor representation for Old San Juan. Very disappointed. Needless to say, when my husband had finished his food and my salad never appeared nor an apology or acknowledgment of our order not being complete, it was time to go. There is no excuse for an establishment to not say "we are sorry for how long it's taking" ,when you realize things are getting too busy for you, Show some respect to your customers and you will get something...

They said it was day of soft launch. The service was slow. The server was nice but not competent. Different people came to take the order and the final bill was messed up, of course, charging us for two dishes instead of one. The sad thing was the food was not at all worth it. The dishes were cold, and for two dishes we didn't get the accompanying bread (when we told the server that they didn't provide bread with a dish that had bread in the menu, they told us to our face that bread isn't included - we had to tell them to look at the menu and come back to us). The cauliflower steak was not cooked well and essentially inedible. The dish was sent back and we asked for anything vegetarian they can provide instead - they gave us burnt potatoes. They charged us for all the dishes that were sent back. We had to struggle with the manager to explain why we were dissatisfied. To be honest, talking with the manager was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. I'll just leave it at that. Not one dish was up to the mark. The service staff was nice to the face but it was annoying after a point as they couldn't understand our...

3 out of 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Drinks, Long Wait, Tourist Prices

Our family of five had lunch on Christmas Eve 🎄and while we were seated quickly, the wait for food was nearly three hours. A tour group that arrived after us even got their to-go orders first, which was a bit frustrating.

The drinks were excellent. We enjoyed a variety of daiquiris, piña coladas 🥥 lemonades 🍋 and passionfruit juice

For food, we ordered Grill Master Churrasco 🥩 Red Snapper 🐟 and rice, salad and red beans 🫘 were our sides 🍚 The rice was tasty, but the churrasco was undercooked and the snapper was dry. Portions were decent, but prices felt inflated for the quality 😕

The atmosphere was nice, and the friendly staff helped make up for some of the delays 🙂

Overall, it’s a historic spot worth visiting for drinks and ambiance, but the menu needs an update, and they could benefit from more staff to manage the high demand.

If you plan to visit, order drinks and appetizers immediately, and expect to wait. Make sure you’re in good company, have plenty of patience, and order drinks and appetizers right away to make the wait...

Let's start off with the building. Its one of the oldest in the area. It has a ton of history inside. The front staff were all super friendly and the guy behind the bar even shared history of the area. Thats about where it stops at. I ordered a smash burger that was supposed to be mixed with plantains. It was just another frozen burger that was really over cooked and had zero flavor. It was so dry that I had to start dipping it in extra ketchup. The fries are just store bought frozen ones. My wife ordered mofongo. She said it had zero taste also. The chicken didn't look good. She didn't even eat it. The kitchen service is super slow. For two simple dishes it took roughly 20 minutes to get our food. And we were the only ones in there. We definitely feel cheated with this place. It has the chance to be something really great if the right people took it over. We spent $65 on 2 drinks, 2 meals and 1 salad. Definitely isn't worth the money. We will never be back. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the higher ranked restaurants in the area. Unless you like over priced no flavor food.

They were very welcoming! Took our order right away. I had no idea that was the oldest restaurant in Puerto Rico, grateful we got to learned that in a rainy day, we spontaneously got there because the rain wouldn’t stop, we were soaked. It’s very beautiful, the paintings are gorgeous. I wanted to give it a 5 star but to be the only table in the restaurant at that time, they took a long time to serve our food. We really liked our food, Mofongo al ajillo with chicken, steak mofongo, shrimp Mofongo that my grandma loved, alcapurrias pequeñas muy ricas, the chefs seemed happy to be cooking our food, I really appreciated their joy. The server was very nice my family and I appreciate his service but they all seemed to be in slow motion. I love reggaeton but this restaurant does not match with reggaeton music. The restaurant would be very successful with the right music and faster service. My favorite thing of all, “the cheese flan”, wow! I need more of it in my life. Thank you for the experience, I look forward to visit again expecting a few things to be better on my next visit.
