Visited Old San Juan. We made our own bowl, and for $15+taxes, we were ghastly shocked by the baby food given. No joke, thereafter, had to go elsewhere to eat again.
My bowl consisted of avocado, hence the name. First, the rice & beans, where is the beans, it ran away from the rice, lol lol, like speedy Gonzales. 2 icecream scoops of rice at bottom of the paper bowl, that which should warmed (was cold, maybe with all the cold toppings on top);
The shredded chicken, very dried, chewy, bland + over cooked, seasoned the chicken, maybe slow baked, then shredded, not boiled.
Next, Garbanzo (chick) beans was ok, but the server kept drowning the bowl with the liquid from the beans pan, had to stopped him, then he stated its good, can beans are never good, especiallythe preserves liquids from its can.
Toppings were: red onions ok, not soggy, had a crunch; seaweed (very tough, unable to eat) flakes; mangoes (mushy slimy old taste). Told the server, if i can get fresh mangoes; told no fresh mangoes is avail to cut up, the fruits are cut up the day prior.
Nonetheless, epic failure and certainly will revisit and tried the other locations.
The sauce was the spicy shoyu sauce, not at all spicy, and was directed (pointed) to the far side of the counter to the hot sauce, lol, whilst there, discovered vinegar (white) but may I recommend balsamic or apple cider vinegar, it makes the food more profound on the taste buds, just fyi. Plus no table salt please.
Overall, I gave this location a 2.5 out of 5 (room for improvement). Especially the portions servings of food and customer service with a smile.
Upon entering the establishment, no smile, no greetings as to welcome their guest's. The two young lads looks like they don't want to be at work, but elsewhere.
Still yet, they were professional and courteous to render the service. But a SMILE goes a long way to make someone's day.
I specifically did not tried their juices, preffered it freshly made. Both dessert the avo brownies were moist and...

If you're looking for a fresh and vibrant culinary experience in San Juan, The Stuffed Avocado Shop is definitely worth a visit. The star of the show here is undoubtedly the food — everything is incredibly fresh, from the perfectly ripe avocados to the variety of delicious, well-balanced fillings. Whether you go for the shrimp, tuna, or chicken options, you can tell that each dish is thoughtfully crafted with high-quality ingredients. The avocado itself, always creamy and flavorful, serves as the ideal base for the assortment of unique toppings.
The decor and atmosphere of the space offer a cozy, laid-back vibe, with colorful touches and natural elements that create a relaxed dining environment. It's clear that the place has a fun, casual aesthetic, although there’s a bit of room for improvement in terms of overall polish. The furniture could use a slight update, and some of the details in the decor feel a bit disjointed. But it’s a minor point when considering the overall pleasant vibe.
One area for improvement would be the attention to cleanliness in the dining area. While the staff are friendly, it would be great to see a little more attention to detail in terms of cleaning and tidying up between diners. A more thorough and professional cleaning process would really elevate the experience, making the space feel more pristine and inviting.
Overall, The Stuffed Avocado Shop offers a solid dining experience with fresh, flavorful food that leaves you satisfied. With a few small tweaks in the decor and cleanliness, it could easily become a standout spot in San Juan. Definitely worth checking out for a casual meal with a...
Read moreFirst time in PR and the first place we visited was the Stuffed Avocado based on solid reviews and looked forward to eating a fresher fare. We did not know the mask mandate was still in effect (honestly our bust for not researching prior to disembarking) and upon entering the eatery we were sternly demanded to put on a mask to which we immediately complied. After that however, the IN-hospitality continued as the workers were definitely not happy, cheery or personable in their work. The food was good, but begrudgingly made and served with an uncomfortable impatience on their end as we deciding what to eat. That coupled with zero pleasantries after being scolded for not having a mask really stole the positive vibes that we looked forward too while patronizing this eatery. Even after that we left we kept our good graces of cleaning up after ourselves and complimenting the food. Yet we were met with dirty looks and dagger eyes. Oh, and one last thing, they closed at 4 PM and to let us know that we needed to get out, they blared the music behind us so obnoxiously loud that it pierced my ear drums. All in all, there was no cause for being rude as all we wanted to do was eat healthy and support a local business, which I might add is the least we can do...
