You get what you pay for. Location was good, parking was plentiful, and the building from afar wasn't that bad. Everything else though, well... Alarm clock was 50mins off. Two of the 4 lamps did not work Hallways and elevators were dirty; split soap on the elevators floor. Musky small when first walking into room Dated and old kitchette. Everything was dated actually. 3 plastic wrapped disposable cups in washroom. Iron in the closet. The wifi was unbearably slow. It might let you check your email, but I couldn't work or play videos with it. Breakfast is really just coffee , muffins, and maybe granola bars. No eggs, bacon, or even a place to sit down. Ice cube trays in fridge empty. Shampoo mini bottle was 1/4 full, so barely enough for a single shower. No conditioner. AC was off when arriving, so the room at first was pretty warm. AC worked when I turned it on at least. Leather couch was sticky and clearly in need of a wipe down. Splash marks are clearly seen on it. Tv had just 30 analog tv stations; many of them were pretty low quality. Bedsheets were old, but the white linen seemed at least washed. Some black hair on the comforter, so that wasn't washed. Toilet seat was up when I got there. Seat was really old looking , stained yellow, and had small dents. I can hear the neighbours through the wall. 3pm check in, although many rooms were still not cleaned. Staff were new and young: few weeks on the job, but they were quite nice. The front staff seemed acutely aware of a house cleaning problem they have been having, and so they took the time to check to see that the rooms marked as clean were Infact clean. They are apparently understaffed and many rooms that are marked cleaned that haven't even been touched. I'd imagine the managers of the property invest very little into the operations and upkeep. The front staff may be the only ones making an effort to deal with the problem, but for how long will they still care? If you need something super cheap, and arent picky, it might work out for you. If the bedsheets are dirty, just request new bedsheets be sent up.

My stay at Extended Stay in Scottsdale AZ was not good! Where to start? I guess I’ll list the issues; 1. The mattress was horrific. It felt like a hideaway sofa bed. I could feel the springs while I laid on it. 2. The first night there the neighboring room decided to sit outside my room from 11:30pm to 2:45am and act as if it was the middle of the day. Loud talking, playing music, squeezing a dogs squeak toy and some electronic kiddie toy were bombarding the whole area. I attempted to contact the front desk but they do not have anyone available after 10pm. I had to call Scottsdale PD at 2am with a noise complaint. 3. The following morning, at 9am, the front desk knocked on my door. She was there with two men from an exterminator service. I was told they needed to spray my room immediately. Nice wake up call after a night of no sleep thanks to the noise. 4. I spent my two night stay annihilating roaches. The exterminator apparently didn’t work. 5. I asked the front desk for an extra blanket. I couldn’t get one unless I paid extra for it. Really? 6. The way the shower curtain is mounted the curtain can’t be tucked into the shower. When I exited the tub I stepped into a lake. After the time I spent there I can safely say I will NEVER stay at another Extended Stay hotel!!!

The room we had 206 smelled awful. We were hit by a strong cigarette smell as soon as we walked through the door, and cigarette burns all throughout the room, on the bed, on the counters and on the chair. The room was infested with bugs and roaches. The tv worked but not great it took about 10 minutes for us to turn it on and have it stay on. There was no water or even vending machines to buy water. There were people outside the on the stairs doing their hair around 10pm which we had to awkwardly scoot around them to get to our room. The outlets wouldn’t charge your phone if the light was off so we had to sleep with the lights on, when we did finally sleep the people next to us played music so loudly that I couldn’t fall back asleep. As soon as my boyfriend woke up we packed, cleaned, and checked out, and we were wanting to get the breakfast. Which was literally just packets of oatmeal. When we got to check out they couldn't find us on the check out sheet which was out in the open, there was peoples full names, first and last just left out for everyone to see. I expected more for the location and the price I have paid. I will never come back.

I've stayed at several Extended Stay Americas in the past. This was by far, the worst. I know it's a budget hotel, so I don't expect frills, but this property clearly isn't well maintained. I had a ten night stay booked, while I work the Barrett Jackson event. Last year I stayed at the location on 62nd and Scottsdale, and had a good experience. I chose the N. Scottsdale location this year, because it's even closer to the event. The days are long, and I just need a clean place to get some sleep at night. My room was ground floor around the back of the building. I was not expecting the doors to the rooms to be on the outside, as every other Extended Stay I've been to has interior corridors. The door handle to my room was loose, the kitchen counters had visible food residue, the fan in the bathroom was hanging off the wall, the bathtub wouldn't stop dripping (and there were hairs), and there were 3 burned out light bulbs. These are trivial items, but there were also residents grilling and drinking in the parking lot. Creating a lot of noise and lack of privacy. I called the front desk to ask the night manager if there was a maintenance guy, who could at least fix the dripping tub. He said no, but was happy to change my room and recommended moving me to the front of the building, and 3rd floor. I was very grateful for this! Packed up and went to the lobby to grab the key. Unfortunately, when I went up to take a look at the new room, I couldn't handle it. I thought everything was OK until I pulled back the covers. There were clearly visible stains on the sheets, and several hairs. Additionally, there was a shower cap over the smoke detector. Obviously someone was smoking in the room, but that has to be a safety violation. It's obvious that the housekeeping staff is either underpaid, or simply not held to a high standard (or both). Either way, I was ready to get the hell out of there. The night manager was very kind and understanding, and gave me a refund. Unfortunately, this really screwed up the rest of my trip. First, the refund has yet to post to my checking account 4 days later (holiday weekend). Second, because of the event most other hotels have been sold out in the area, or are now charging much higher rates. I've had to book 4 separate hotels for the ten days, which has been incredibly inconvenient. Unless this hotel goes under new ownership in the future, I will never go back! This owner does not take pride in his business, and it shows. The photos are from the 2nd room. I didn't take...

Worst 1 night stay ever! Check out for 2nd night. Desk staff unpleasant! No welcome, had to ask clerk his name "TJ". Check in to get key, but came back later, visiting son first. Back around 8pm. Visit office because we didn't receive map of hotel, where's room? Handicap husband walked up ADA walkway, fell unlevel walkway with high ADA incline. Guest in room 117, his wife and a bystander smoking came to assisted my husband to get up. (The office ADA walkway was better with red markings and lower slant.) Left message for manager/owner to call us about fall reported to office, but he never got the message. 1st night stay, walked in room looked ok then saw fringe in middle of kitchen, shelf on table. Called clerk who came down and helped her put shelf and bins together then we both slide fringe in place. She left. We called office again no t.v. remote, one came later. Next day out for day, returned at 7pm for our 2nd night...no fresh towels and bed unmade. Called Office who stated room and bed linen cleaned very two weeks. Office didn't mention anything or gave any handouts of property about room location, housekeeping rules, grab and go breakfast location or even where the ice machine was. We learned about housekeeping rules after calling about no fresh towels. Called clerk, you have to come get towels,"can't leave my post handicapped." Told office unhappy and want to check out and want refund. Office called manager/owner to inform him. When he did call back he thought we were calling about a lost dog!! Lost phone connection and he called back while I was in office. I told him we're checking out and wanted full refund and that were unhappy that the office didn't do their deligence in providing hotel stay information that was important for a guest to acquire at time of checking. A handout would have been nice to alert guest of all amenities including policies and procedures for hotel. I did wonder what would happen in case if fire...what do guests do...what do they suppose to go or do? Furthermore, I will contact hotel corporation to continue with our complaint. Booked this reservation through Price line and was another consumers nightmare as well, but won't go into...

This place is shady. Not too sure whats going on with the staff but like the previous poster said they do call you and say random things that seem bizarre and inappropriate. We checked in and were not expecting anything fancy or anything but at least a clean room. Anyway we got a room that was very disgusting and gross, we were told there were no other rooms and maids wouldnt be in until tomorrow. So we asked for cleaning supplies the lady said she would call us back and that she was busy. An hour went by and no call back so we went down there and she told a guy working with her that they have to be "strict" with the guests and not just let them have their way. Im thinking thats an odd thing to say. But ok we get some sort of spray cleaner like a mixture and a rag and go start cleaning this is when it gets weird this big fat lady who claims to be a manager but looks like a tweaked out crack head calls us and says "i was just informed that your room has major damage" i said what and she said "the maids just came and told me that your room has major damage" i said we just went and got cleaning supplies because you put us in a dirty room and said theres no maids here remember? And she hung up on me. We had been there maybe two hours at this point and i was confused. The lady then calls and asks if we have traffic, she said someone told her i was with a bunch of random guys (we are from california driving to visit family just stopping through so we dont know anyone in thos town.) And the only person we have had come was a guy from pizza hut so now im really confused. I was starting to feel disrespected. And the lady said oh i just realized this room was already reserved i need to ask you to leave. I said then id like a refund (which was over $150) and she said no we dont give refunds. Im disputing it with my credit card company and we ended up leaving. Theres definitely something weird and shady going on with the staff here. Ive never in my life been treated like this by anyone, i told the lady i was going to call corporate and she said go ahead you wont be the first and laughed so that shows that this is just how they...
