*READ BEFORE YOU CHOOSE THIS LOCATION: * The quality of the room was alright at best. Clean, but pretty dated. There is a visible room as you go to the elevator on the main level of junk, garbage, or things from construction? Tacky, though. I opted to pay for an upgrade with the King Suite and it was definitely NOT worth what was paid. Parking was also minimal for available spaces. The breakfast was NOT up-to-par with what one would find in any "free breakfast" for hotels - selections were awful and minimal at best. Hard boiled eggs tasted weird - like one I had to spit out and throw away. Their cooked foods, there were not much kept stocked for dishing (barely a scoop of scrambled eggs and the crumbs of it) and when they finally brought out sausage, it did not look well cooked - like gray with light brown marks? The security deposit is $100! And be careful as they expect YOU to tell them when you paid using a third party company - outside source or they charge you AGAIN for the room without asking. I had to submit a claim this morning with the Better Business Bureau as they not only stole money from me, after calling them directly then their 800 number for Best Western when they made the problem WORSE (they did not refund their mistake and added a second charge for a room I already paid for through an outside company). Double charged by them means I PAID THREE TIMES THE AMOUNT for a room that was definitely NOT worth the one payment! "Reservation# ** made and pre-paid with Affirm through ID-90 Travel. Best Western's Surestay Hotel has committed fraud on my credit card not just once, but double charged me for a room I already pre-paid for using Affirm. February 01, 2023, I checked in for a two night stay and handed the gentleman my ID and Credit Card. He did not speak English very well, so it was difficult to understand when he said he ran my credit card "First is for the room of $193 if you can sign. Second is the security deposit ($100)." I did not sign and asked, "did you say "for the room"? I already paid using Affirm." He then saw I had paid and immediately apologized and said, "I didnt see the message box, but you did pay. I put in to refund the $193. That and the security deposit should drop off after check out depending on the time the bank takes." This was an enormous inconvenience as I needed that amount for other travel needs and now I would not have access for that for days. February 05, the $100 security deposit drops off but there is no pending refund and there is a pending $193 charge still (for the room). So I called the location and spoke with a gal about it who told me that they expect their patrons to "let them know when they have paid using an outside source, because they don't always see the note for it", but that she would contact their online and get it fixed and refunded. February 06, it finally shows a refund pending, but now 2 charges at $193 each so I called the Best Western 800 number to which I had to explain to the representative the absurdity of this all and I just want my money back. He assured me he would fix that and apologized. February 07, there is now NO refund and there are still 2 fraudulent pending charges (I never signed for nor agreed to) from Best Western at $193 each ($386 total). I could not buy dinners or necessary items in my travels since and having tried to resolve Best Western's mistake with them, I'm filing a claim....
Read moreI was tired out at the end of a long day of travel and work and needed to crash before an early flight out the next morning so this turned out to be perfect for me. The location is near the airport and they have a shuttle to get you there (expect to tip the shuttle driver). I slept like a rock and enjoyed a nice hot shower in the morning. I didn't really use the hotel for anything else. I didn't even turn the TV on. I couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work but I was only sending a couple of emails so my own network from my phone did the trick. Really it fulfilled my needs 100%. It was very adequate. The room was clean and the through-the-wall air conditioning unit did a fine job keeping me cool. So, you may ask why only three stars? Well, if you are not here on business with the same minimum requirements that I had, I think you will be disappointed. It's not a place to go and have fun. It's not like there are good views from here and the location isn't in a place where you can go for a walk and find a nice place to eat or shop or be entertained. It's in a nest of other hotels all there to just be close to the airport. Upon entering, I felt like I had entered a government office. There were loads of people hanging out there - who knows why and what they were doing? It felt like a DMV office. The lady running the desk also made me feel like I was in a DMV office. "Next. Name. ID. Credit Card. Sign here. Here's your key. Next... (repeat)" That's the script she was reading from. Zero emotion or welcome. She wasn't rude or mean but it was very clear that she didn't want to be there. And why would she want to be there in that cold and charmless place? The lobby itself is quite a disappointment - not that I would want to spend any time there but it is not spacious or luxurious or warm or welcoming. What it is, is charmless. I would put the room experience above the lobby experience but not by much. They also are in the category of a minimum experience. There's a bed there and space to put your stuff and a bathroom - carpet on the floor and paint on the walls but it lacked anything to say it was more than average - maybe less than average would be a better way to describe it. I left before the complementary breakfast time but I don't see how that could have been anything more than yet another minimum encounter so I was not sad to miss out on it. Is this whole analysis a from a spoiled first world perspective? Of course. I'm sure that for millions around the world this would have been a five star event but from that first world perspective, I think a three star...
Read moreHorrible front desk service and poor shuttle service. We called the shuttle service number more than 10 times at the airport shuttle bus area for pick up but NO ONE ANSWERED. Called the front desk number numerous times but NO ONE ANSWERED. Reservation guy or customer services couldn’t transfer the call to the hotel and they were unable to reach either. We spent more than an hour just trying to speak to a human being who work at this hotel but we couldn’t. So we just got the uber instead, paying extra money to get there when they say they offer 24-hr free shuttle service for airport pick up/drop off. When we finally got there, only one lady was working at the front desk which was understandable how busy she was but still we weren’t happy the way they were handling the service overall. We were staying here only one night so we didn’t complain about it but made sure about the airport drop off shuttle since our flight was early in the morning.
The front desk shift changed and we clearly told the guy who was working at that time about the shuttle service. We booked it at 5:30AM, next day we checked out at 5:20 since he told us to come down 10 minutes before leaving. The shift changed again and it was another lady at the front desk in the morning and said she didn’t see any note or reservation at 5:30. She called the other hotel where they share the shuttle service and told them to stop by here to pick us up. Waited another 10 more minutes and asked her how long we should wait. She called the driver this time and the driver said he’s already at the airport. It seemed like the driver wasn’t even informed. We couldn’t wait any longer so called the uber again which we ended up paying $15 again getting back the airport which is only like 10 minutes driving away.
The front desk lady didn’t help us at all except for saying sorry in the morning when it happened. The airport was fully packed but thankfully we made it to our flight.
Yea mistakes could happen and miscommunications could happen during busy holidays but it was too ridiculous how this simple service at this place was so disorganized and nothing came down properly.
The price is reasonable but you are going to end up wasting more money if you are unfortunate with people who work there and who do not know how to follow simple procedures.
It was worst hotel experience ever in my life personally. Please don’t waste your life by...
