Our reservation was cancelled even after pre-checking in; No communications regarding Hilton's system glitch, No help offered, No manager or staff to help resolve the situation. Bottom line: We felt humiliated and disrespected, like people with no dignity.|I am a Hilton honor member since 2017 and a diamond member for many years. My family have traveled exclusively with Hilton ever since. I usually don’t write reviews because the service was relatively satisfactory. This is the first time I feel that we are treated with disrespect and humiliation at the Hampton Inn Seattle Airport at 19445 INTERNATIONAL Blvd. |I booked a room with two double beds for three nights from September 16, 2023, for the family of three. I got a confirmation in my email for a total of $475.48. It surprised me that the rate for the first night on 9/16/2023 was only $9.60 but I thought it was a promotion and I didn’t think much of it. When closer to the travel date, I called the hotel directly to confirm my reservation, and the operator confirmed said no problem. I managed to pre-check-in when it is available the day before my travel (Sep 15, 2023), I even picked a room on the first floor next to the conference room.|We were busy during the day of our arrival in Seattle, having to move my daughter to her college dorm. We got to the hotel late at night around 9:30pm. Upon checking with the front desk, we realized that our reservation has been cancelled. I showed my booking confirmation to the desk clerk, Jaleesa, and she said there was a system glitch on that day’s booking, and she can’t find my reservation and the hotel is sold out. Despite our effort to reason with Jaleesa, she can only offer a single bed with a roller bed for my daughter at a premium price of $220. She said that I can talk to the manger, Sandy, the next morning. We were so exhausted and knowing that we were not getting anywhere with Jaleesa, we checked in the room and waited for a roller bed. Once we enter the room, we found out that it is a not a functional room. It was late and we hoped we can talk to the manager about the mishaps the next day.|We waited for more than an hour (until 11:30pm), still no roller bed arrived, so I stopped by the front desk again, this time, there was a different person at the front desk, and she said there was NO roller bed. In other words, she expected one of us to sleep on the floor for the night. The situation was just preposterous! |To resolve the no-bed situation, we ended up having to drive my daughter to her dorm room in downtown Seattle, so she has a bed to sleep on. After back and forth for more than an hour, we were just exalted and couldn’t sleep for the night. When morning came, we asked to speak to the manager. The morning clerk, Esther, said that the manager was not present. We asked if they could comp the night because it was Hilton’s system glitch, not an error on our part, the clerk firmly deny our request. She argued that I should know the room rate could not be $9.60. Which was exactly what I did—I questioned it, and I called back to reconfirm earlier on but no one communicated this system error to me until 9:30pm on the night we arrived the hotel. There were no phone call, text, or email messages. This is not the way to do business. We feel so humiliated and disappointed with Hilton. We are sad but we will look for another hotel chain for our next...
Read moreWell..this is a pretty new place. (First there are 2 close to each other on this street)We passed the first one that had a breakfast place attached and 4 different fast food places within walking distance. But this is the one, further on down not close to anywhere to eat..past those..before any others. They did say the shuttle would take me up to certain times. (Certain restaurants) There wasn't anything in the room for dining in ideas so I went to the desk and asked if they had delivery Menus? I got 2 pizza menus this was at about 8:05pm I'd had nothing but a fig bar on the plane since breakfast at the airport. So I order a small pizza and a tea. It's $23.40 tells me it will be an hour. Ok. So this Hampton room is clean, nicely decorated. There is a sliding door between the bedroom and bathroom. But no closet..no hanger to hang my top up on for the next day to get out the wrinkles. I've never seen this before..(I did just throw it over the shower rod..after I wiped it off) Ok 1 hr 10 mins. I'm starving..and thinking..yeah he quoted me $23.40 for a $14 pizza off the menu plus the tea? Plus del fee thinking I would say forget it!! But I was so hungry.. But he said Forget me! Now its almost 9:30..to late to go anywhere..I'm so tired, hurting, now my head hurts.. Then the knock!!! So my pizza and tea arrive! I eat..take my meds.. Go to sleep because I have to be up at 3:30. Then the worst alarm clock (I thought) woke me up... I see this cube on the nightstand and grab it..(I didn't set it though) but it's loud and something isn't right..I'm brain fogged..meds are messing with me.. I realize the noise is coming from higher in the room..fire? I roll out of bed..pull on pants, hoodie..grab purse on my way to the door..I look out..people are walking calmly toward the desk. My room is the first from the desk and I could see the clerk on the phone talking and she seemed upset. I went back inside grabbed my tea and my key. Went to the desk and found out that the clerk had been making cookies and they burned causing the alarm to go off. She went to turn off the alarm and when she turned the key, it broke off in the alarm box. The fire department had to come and the noise of the alarm would not stop until they could get the key out. All of the guest had to stay up and out of their rooms until the alarm was cleared. The clerk was beside herself, she felt so very bad, and I think those cookies were for a guest. Accidents happen. For me, that meant I was wide awake and I couldn't take anything else for sleep or pain. So I went ahead and got ready to go to the airport. The first shuttle didn't run till 5:00. So it's a perfectly fine reasonable place to stay. I just had a wierd...
Read moreTo begin, I was let down that I, the one not paying, had to park the truck again and bring my travel duffel into the more average Hampton than the more upscale one a block away. Immediately, I knew this was a let down and my paying friend's word "expensive" would mean overpriced in this case. When I checked in, they approved of me parking the truck in a watchable place that was loaded with cameras, which helps prevent vandalism from happening to the rental truck; I liked that. Second, the advantage this Hampton had was that it was closer to the Light Rail Station (quicker to the airport as a result despite distance , even though I used the courtesy shuttle to get to the airport). The advantage of the locality to the Light Rail Station allowed me to leave quickly to downtown Seattle and maximize the amount of fun that I could have in town and return comfortably for hotel activities such as chasing airplanes with cameras and swimming - and sleep at normal hours. The narrowness of the gap between the hotel walls and the landscape trees of the hotel next door make plane chasing pictures difficult to take, but I got some and enjoyed it. One category this Hampton ranks number 1 for is the way the WARM pool is nested amongst a garden and designer-looking outdoor pool furniture despite there being no hot tub. I had a very nice swim in the pool after a fun day in Seattle. I got myself some beautiful swimming pool selfies that I am not going to post. One letdown that can happen with any hotel was that the laundry was not in commission; I found another way to deBO a slightly sweated-up souvenir shirt that I decided to wear the second day around town (on the plus note: that trick saved me time and money). The overall letdown was not as much as I expected; it does cost less than the bigger one but it just might have been a better bang...
