The hotel is dated, all the furniture, curtains, linen, towels are old. The paint, the bathroom faucets, shower curtains are torn and old. The carpet, room and hallways smell of cigarette smoke. The air quality in the room was horrible. I started coughing after the second night. They changed our rooms twice, once because the keys didn't work, second because the tv didn't work. I had a bad experience with the manger Randy Nelson, who came knocking at our door without identifying himself asking if we planned on spending another night. We had checked in early and the guy at the front desk changed our reservation to start one day prior and thus saying we should check out a day early. What he was supposed to do was charge us for the early check in which was only by a few hours but he said it was ok. Randy was very rude to us and even yelled at me slamming his fist on the counter saying 'all I want is my money'. This after I tried explaining that this was not an error on our part. He did this in front of other guests which made it seem as if we were trying to get out of paying for the first night. I think he treated us this way due to the color of our skin, he wouldn't have assumed that others were trying to get a free night and approached their room like that. He is disrespectful and needs to be trained in customer service. Randy expressed that they had fired the employee because he constantly did things like that. Well that had nothing to do with us, what he should have had was an apologetic tone because his employee did not charge us correctly upon check in. After all this we left and went to Double Tree at Hilton which is a bit more pricey but the air in the room was breathable. I have tried making a formal complaint against him but there is no where to do this. Days Inn is by Wyndam Hotels and I will continue to reach out until I get a...
Read moreWhy is there such a high deposit for this type of hotel? Things in the room were broken and the hot water didn't work properly. I was told it would be a 30 minute wait for shuttle yet it was after midnight and it's a few minutes away. The night clerk was very rude. She kept telling me about a $150 deposit and an incidental fee and seemed to indicate that the room wasn't paid for, even though I had a receipt that said it was paid for. She indicated third party sites don't always get money through. I was fine with paying a deposit if I got the money back. This conversation went back and forth for a while. I even had the money out after she said if I didn't if wasn't her problem pretty much. Then she kept saying I was confused. I asked what I needed to give her several times and she never did answer. After all that she handed me my keys and didn't charge me any fees, as if I was annoyance to her and she kept raising her voice. Then I asked if there was a first floor instead of second. She said there's a machine over there. She was talking about an elevator. Was she just explaining the fees, even though they didn't apply to me? After explaining this to a couple people they said they wondered if it was a scam or if she was on something. My 8 year old even said something was strange about her. I asked the morning clerk about everything and he was very nice and said different times of the year the deposit fee is different. He said my room was paid for and I didn't even ask about that. Made me wonder. He asked what time I got there and she wrote down 11pm but I didn't get there until 12:30. The site I booked mentions a $150 deposit, but nothing else and nothing about fees. There's no phone or bar or anything in the room so why mention incidental charges? Also Days Inn site fine print mentions small fees but...
Read moreUpon arrival the front desk was great, room clean and bright. Little did we know this first impression would not last.
No service to room, nowhere to take out your own garbage but minimal small cans , one on each level, always overflowing and trash bags on side.
No exchange of towels, and when my teen son called the front desk after days to request them be changed he was mocked for speaking proper English ‘ you would li,e to REQUEST? “ repeated over and over then she said it was our own fault that we needed to hunt down the maid service ourselves.
The manger Randy Nelson, tried to FORCE his way into our room, while my teens were there and I was at work. Due to his own employee not rechecking us in properly , even though I had come down early, PAID, cheeked ID and had room keys redone. Terrifying my sons.
I decided to have our last night moved up, canceled the other, and when I called the manger Randy LAUGHED and joked about the fact that I had to call to ensure he would not force how any into our room again, making sure he and front desk knew we were booked one more night PREPAID, and to leave my sons alone. I left work early, came and packed our things even though we had another night paid, and even leaving room this maniac stood in the doorway and tried coming in, looking around the room????? I have no idea why, as we are quiet, courteous and had paid quite a bit already to stay there and were checking out losing money for a night just to get away from HIM specifically. He had just happened to be in hall speaking with maid service and saw us leaving and became weird as hell. Scary to say the least.
Front desk has one really on the ball person but the other is crass, smokes a lot and yells when she speaks. I witnessed her be rude to so many guests. And us as well.
Please stay at Ramada up the street, it’s...
