The Osprey is a cool casual dining spot in a fairly unique location. Outdoor seating has heating available and let's you overlook the river while a busy bridge nearby reminds you you're in Spokane. Disappointingly, the building is situated in such a way that any view of the city proper is obstructed, but this is a minor nitpick. In terms of food and drink, you have a bunch of crowd pleasing options, typical gastro pub fare, and a decent selection of beverages on tap. So many places in Spokane waste keg space on IPAs that all taste similar. Here we have a good variety. I was particularly pleased with my porter. I tried the chicken sandwich, uniquely breaded with kettle chips, and the Osprey burger. The chicken sandwich was perfectly juicy and flavorful and the kettle chip breading added a unique texture without too much flavor of its own to interfere. Though I do not often order chicken sandwiches, this one may make me reconsider in the future. The Osprey burger, however, is in a league of its own. The pretzel bun, the mellow pickles (they claim are made in-house), the patty, the bacon, every single part of this burger is delicious on its own and together they add up to make one of the best tasting burgers in Spokane. The only downside here is the price. At 23$, it's a lot to ask. Overall, the atmosphere and accessibility are good, the scenery is pleasant, the food and drink were above average, and my only real complaint is the price. For me, the Osprey burger is a real standout even at it's high price point. 4/5, would definitely recommend for the burger alone. Update 8/19/23: Changed rating to 5 stars. Same delicious burger with a new, lower price.

We came here for the Valentines Day dinner in one of the Igloos. If you’re reading this near February 2021 and plan on going to one of the Igloos. Make sure you dress warm. The heaters don’t do much given the current weather. I would recommend warm shoes, pants, winter coat, and scarf or beanie or something for your ears too. We saw some people show up in dresses and skirts for romantic dinners and can’t imagine how uncomfortable they must have been. That all aside, since Osprey can’t control the weather no stars gone for being cold haha. We had Crab Cakes, Chicken Tortilla Soup, and Smoked Salmon. We split desserts getting one Cheese Cake and one Chocolate Mousse. Everything was great. The Crab Cakes were incredible second best part of the meal for me. The tortilla soup was good, but does have a little kick if you’re not into spicy food. Not bad, just a little. The Salmon was cooked perfectly and the elderflower sauce was fantastic. The absolute best part for me was the Red Beet Risotto! It was so good I would have enjoyed just a bowl full of it. Our waiter was fantastic and it’s incredible that they do such a great job while braving the cold all day.

Disappointing breakfast. “Osprey Restaurant & Bar features New American cuisine paired with regional wines and served alongside a pristine river view setting.” I did not feel the restaurant lived up to the description — even ignoring the exterior construction that obscured the view. Hotel lobby/cafeteria decor, cafeteria acoustics, standard hotel breakfast menu. We ordered the pulled pork Benedict, huckleberry pancakes, bacon, coffee, and tea (Bigelow’s). The poached eggs were well cooked, but the Hollandaise had split, the rest of the dish had little flavor and didn’t really come together. The pancakes were chewy. The coffee was OK. Service was friendly and kind but still a little inexperienced. If you’re staying at the hotel, and you don’t have particularly high expectations — maybe you find Seattle and Portland restaurants a bit too hip and fancy, and you want every dish to come with a pile of potatoes and some Tabasco — stop in for an easy breakfast with friendly servers. I was looking for a bit more atmosphere and a lot more sophistication on the plate.

What an unforgettable dinning experience. The experience was so unforgettable that I thought it was worthy of my first review! If you don't care to read all of the details outlined below, you clearly value your time and do not want it wasted. If that is true, then you must never step foot in this restaurant.

It's been a few days since my lunch with friends at Osprey, but I made sure to take notes on how it went so I feel confident that these details are accurate.

Before ever arriving, we had made a reservation for eight for a late lunch. When we called, we requested that we be seated outside since it was going to be a nice day. They informed us they could not reserve specific tables, but that getting our group a table outside shouldn't be a problem. We arrived on time for our reservation at 1:30pm, and waited roughly 15 minutes before being seated inside, in a space that felt like the hotels lobby. Not exactly the patio seating we hoped for, but it was later in the afternoon and we wanted to eat. After being seated for 40 minutes watching group after group make their way to the outdoor seating as we sit in a half empty restaurant, and having only ordered drinks, our menus were then swapped out for a different menu, because meal times had supposedly changed. Once we all re-decided what we wanted to eat, we finally placed an order around 2:30pm. We then did not see our waitress until 3:10pm, when she came over to apologize for how long things were taking. We were informed that a large group in the private conference room had ordered at the same time as us, and despite the fact that we had been there half an hour longer than they had, our order and theirs were being prepared together. Well imagine our surprise when moments later this other groups food started coming out, and we were still sitting there with no food and empty drink glasses. 20 more minutes went by and I began to look for our waitress so that I could flag her down, but she always seemed to be out on the patio (if only we were out there, eh? It would have made speaking with her so much easier).

After finally finding her inside, away from her other tables, I asked what the timeline may be for us getting our food. She very apologetically told me that she did not know, and then looking to her left introduced me to the general manger who happened to be standing next to her. He said nothing. He said nothing to her after she explained the whole situation, and nothing to me as I asked what we could do about it. It was genuinely impressive how unfazed he was by this level of service his restaurant had been providing for the entirety of the afternoon. After many awkward moments of this mans glazed over stare, with no words being spoken, I informed the both of them that we would be leaving. Our waitress asked if we could wait just a moment, and around 3:45pm came over to our table to let us know we were good to go and did not owe anything. We left having never ate anything, and only one round of drinks in 2+ hours spent at our little indoor table with waiting room chairs.

I will note that our waitress did at one point offer us a free round of drinks, which would have been nice had she followed up and actually served us the drinks we told her we wanted.

All in all, this was the worst dining experience of my life. It is criminal that a place like this has made it so long, but a patio along the river will always be good for business regardless of the service and quality of food (yes, I did not eat the food, but everyone I have talked to since sharing this story has told me it is mediocre on it's best day).

I sincerely hope that as you look for a place to eat, you respect yourself and value your own time enough to not try eating at Osprey, Spokane's worst dining...

If I hadn't experienced this fiasco, I would not believe it. My wife and I and our daughter and her husband and their two children plus one other were bicycling on the Centennial trail and stopped at the Osprey today for lunch. There were 7 of us. We used their online menu's because our waitress told us they didn't have any menus. We finally placed our orders about 20 minutes after being seated. Five minutes later our waitress returned and told us the menu was wrong and one of the items that three of us ordered was no longer on the menu. She told us she was going to "yell" at the manager. Three of us placed new orders and then we began a long long wait for our food. We had ordered burgers and simple sandwhiches and it took 45 minutes for them to finally arrive. When they did arrive they only brought 6. Apparently our waitress is not a detail oriented person and didn't count because there were 7 of us who placed orders. She said she could have it out in 5 minutes which I knew was impossible so I told her to forget it. We still did not have napkins or utensils to eat the food she served. We pointed this out and she brought them. We or rather 6 of us then ate our meals. When everyone was done eating and we were getting ready to leave she then brought out the burger I had told her that I did not want. She seemed surprised and somewhat put out that I did not want it. The kids ( 12,11 and 10) had been sitting there for 90 minutes for this fiasco and were getting pretty fidgety. I forgot to mention that when she was pouring the water when we initially arrived, she spilled it on my lap. She was surprised but amazingly she never said excuse me or I am sorry. She brought back a stack of small paper napkins and never said a thing about it. Finally she told us that she was not going to charge us for the hamburger she never brought..really. After I left I called and left a message for the manager to give me a call and he/she never did. The food was good but no food is good enough to go through a...

The food is good but the restaurant is so unbelievably unorganized. The staff specifically the hosts seem untrained, as in the don’t know the menu or even their own restaurant hours! It might be a better experience for dine in but we stayed at this hotel and ordered take out on 3 different occasions—each time was disastrous. (And we didn’t order anything crazy!) for example. We ordered the salmon but instead of asparagus and rice I wanted salad and fries … well they messed up, both of my sides. I thought it would take two minutes to make some fries and a salad… My salmon is all bagged up waiting to be eaten and it takes the host 25 minutes to get my other sides together. By this point my $30 salmon is literally soggy and cold (obviously) and by this point so is my daughters food.

Second time, we order the Asian salad and Caesar salad and a kids meal. I asked for extra dressing for the salad because they literally give you one tiny ramican. Long story short the dressing spills in the bag, I have to ask the host to throw it away (you would think naturally she’d instinctively do this and then also replace the dressing… She did not) I had to ask foe a replacement. Then she has the audacity to check the tip right in front of me ! I’ve been a server IHave no issue tipping but she was one rude and did nothing to deserve it but even still I tipped obviously… I get all the way up to my room which is on the opposite side of the entire hotel just to see that she gave me peanut sauce for the Asian chicken salad which does not even go with that salad!! I go down again to get more dressing she hands me one Caesar dressing this time!! By this point I’m so over it. I finally asked for a manager. But of course, there was not one on site. SMH

FOOD GOOD. Service not so much Very hectic Prices very high for the amount of chaos This happened on every occasion we visited so no we won’t be going back. The only reason we did is because we were staying...
