We had a horrible experience at this hotel. Upon entering, I felt that the staff were not friendly at all and it created a very cold, non-welcoming environment. I was extremely sick and just wanted to check in, use the bathroom and go to bed. Upon entering the room, I went directly for the bathroom to find it absolutely disgusting. Thank goodness I had clorox wipes with me. I wiped the hair infested toilet before sitting down. While I was using the bathroom, my family covered the beds with sleeping bags and fell asleep pretty quick. We had been traveling all day and we all were extremely exhausted. While in the bathroom, I noticed what looked to me as mold on the ceiling. My husband has allergies and by morning he was miserable. The shower curtain had brown stains in two big spots. There was something running down the wall behind the bathroom door and in front of the first bed under the mirror, the lamp shade was cracked and had something brown sprayed up inside of it as well as the sink that took forever to drain. The smoke alarm went off while I was in the shower and the staff had no idea what was going on or if we needed to evacuate or not. We were told it was probably due to me taking a shower, the steam set it off and to keep the door shut. The door was shut the entire time I was showering except for when the alarm went off and getting out to potentially evacuate. I have safety concerns that I feel need to be addressed. Again, I was extremely sick and was up all night in the bathroom. My family was sleeping and I was too sick to deal with trying to get everyone up, moving all of our stuff and potentially moving to another room. I honestly was too sick to deal with it. When we checked out, I felt like I was bothering staff. I'm sorry I had to break up their conversation to check out. When we arrived home, I called to speak to the Manager to discuss these issues and safety concerns. I was told she wouldn't be in until Monday. She ended up calling me back. I explained all of the above and was basically told she wasn't refunding my money due to it being two days later. It's not my fault she wasn't there when we were there. I feel that she didn't take my concerns seriously and she didn't want to even hear my concerns. She stated that it's normal for the smoke alarm to go off while showering. I feel she expressed minimal interest in regards to the potential mold and the lack of cleanliness issues of the room. I filed a complaint immediately with who we booked with. I have no idea how I even ended up booking with a third party especially when I tapped the call button after looking up a specific hotel. The third party reached out to the Manager to discuss the above issues and was told that she already spoke to me and I wasn't getting a refund. We paid $303.32 for a disgusting and unsafe room. We had to wear our crocs while taking a shower. We slept on top of our sleeping bags and had no idea if we needed to evacuate or not due to the smoke alarm going off. There was absolutely no customer service. I am highly disappointed, frustrated and we will...
Read moremy son and i are locals, but enjoyed staying here in the past.. for his 9th birthday this year, he wished to return. We killed time in town for two hours until 3pm check in. my little boy and i carried all our stuff inside, eagerly awaiting our room (parking lot empty in February) .. only to be told they would only take my cash when we check out. They couldn't take my money to check in. (hotel policy) .. the girls at desk seemed nice, and said if i go to Walmart or Sheetz and get a visa gift card.. with the correct amount for room on it, they would hold onto that card, during our stay... and i could pay cash or use that card for check out - the next day. so we carry everything back out to car and go purchase the visa card, which costs an extra $5 to purchase. so $95 dollars later, we return to empty parking lot, carry everything back in again.. only to be told, "the machine" does not accept visa gift cards. huh ? i asked to speak with a manager, politely. by this time we were both ready to rest. the desk girl said she was texting the manager and the manager said they couldn't accept it. so.. you'll take my cash at check out, but not now ? even after doing as you asked, getting a card with room amount, n paying extra for that ? the desk girl swung a sign around in my face without saying another word to me. she knows I've come times before, she seen the proof of receipt from gift card AND me also offering cash ... (the sign was a long small printed letter, i guess explaining there policy on holding customers cards at check in) NOWHERE DID IT SAY, THE GIRLS SHOULDN'T TELL CUSTOMERS TO PAY EXTRA ON A VISA CARD THEIR "MACHINE" WOULDN'T TAKE so now im just out of money i guess ? can't pay my bills with a gift card. you'd think they'd be happy to take trusted business, in February, on a sunday, with no one there 🤔 .. We carried everything back out, packed car up again, and called another hotel down the street... which was MUCH nicer, and HAPPY to take my cash at check in. Even that hotel said, "it sounds like someone just didn't want to do their job"
The Employees Should Know What They Are Telling Their Customers. and should've done something to help with the time, patience, & $95 i spent.. for No good reason.
not impressed with the lack of knowledge, help, and her attitude i did alot just to book a room for less than 24hrs The other two girls (one was house cleaning) THEY WERE GREAT and i wish them all the best. But This Visit SUCKED and wasted our whole...
Read moreNice hotel for the price. Breakfast included, location close to downtown, and staff very friendly. While the building and rooms could use updating, there were many positives; including: beds were extremely comfortable, water in shower piping hot and water pressure very good, free breakfast, consisting of waffles, cereal, muffins, oatmeal, bagels, yogurt and juice. True, there is no eggs, meat or potatoes, but again FREE. Other reviews mentioned the juice being 'watered down'. I didnt find that to be the case. They also have free coffee/tea 24/7, and apples in the breakfast area. Frontdesk staff were very sweet and attentive. I have seen prior reviews stating the opposite; however, in my stay they were nothing but helpful. There were pool towels that could be borrowed from the frontdesk. Free ice, plenty of soap and shampoo in room, and 3 very nice pillows per bed. Also, free parking. Some of the downsides included room cleanliness and side exit doors. It was clean(ish) .. a long hair was on my son's pillow upon arrival- but again, there were 3, so he used the other two. You could tell the corners of the room werent cleaned for some time, under furniture, etc. Lots of stains- everywhere- lampshades, curtains, by vanity sink, walls. A dead beatle was in the corner by the door- thank God it wasnt something worse lol The shower grout was old and either moldy/dirty, as well as the AC unit. Same with the fan in the pool room. Exit doors need Windexed. So overall, was it a decent 2 star hotel? YES. Would I stay here again if needed? YES. Could it use updating and more thorough cleaning .. YES. But overall, the stay is well worth the price. I booked through Booking, there was no deposit as I've seen mentioned and it was $80 per night, to be paid upon arrival. Dunkin and Perkins in close...
