My girlfriend and I tried the Mad Hatter room by ourselves. Very challenging puzzles! Adam, our game-master, was on the ball when we had asked for clues and was extremely helpful (and funny). We scrambled, scratched our heads, felt victorious at moments and felt helpless at moments. In the end, on the final puzzle, we failed to escape, but we walked away having LOADS of fun and talked about it for hours, which is a true win! This was our second visit to Escape Gettysburg and we look forward to the Wizard Chamber being completed so that we can come back. These guys know what they're doing and provide a great experience! Spend an hour and change with Escape Gettysburg, you won't be disappointed.

Did the Heist of Gettysburg Address room. 2 players, finished with 5 minutes to spare and used 2 hints. Would say it's an intermediate level room - could be really challenging for first time players or just two people who haven't done a bunch of rooms before. Don't be afriad to use the hints - we wouldn't have made it out with them. Have done several escape rooms before, and was pleased that a number of the puzzles here were different than I've seen in the past. The theme was integrated really well into the room throughout; one of the best themes I've seen (and hyper specific to Gettysburg too). Game Master was friendly and gave good hints when we needed them.

We enjoyed an hour's play at Escape Gettysburg yesterday afternoon. In a locked room, we followed clues to steal the Gettysburg Address. It was called the Gettysburg Heist. Escape Gettysburg opened in March, 2017. The hour's play was given to us by Beloved wife's workmates as a retirement gift. It sure was fun to discover the clues, use logic, and work as fast as we could to get it done. In the end, we failed to do it all in one hour, but the staff at the place were helpful, friendly, and made it more fun!

This was our first time at this location but our 10th escape room overall, and unfortunately it was the most disappointing. One of the puzzles didn’t work as intended — even after we followed the instructions from our game master, it still wouldn’t trigger the next clue. She eventually had to come into the room try it herself, and after it still didn’t work, explain what should have happened, and give us the numbers we needed to move forward. This not only broke the immersion but also ate up a good portion of our time.

We also had issues with requesting hints. At times we were waving for help without a response, and when we did receive a clue, it was difficult to hear. By the end, we were very close to finishing but didn’t quite make it, and I can’t help but feel that we would have escaped if everything had functioned properly. While our game master mentioned giving us extra time to make up for the malfunction, we were out the door before a full hour had even passed since our arrival.

On top of that, one puzzle required a player to get inside a coffin that locked shut for a moment, which wasn’t enjoyable. Overall, the technical issues and experience left us disappointed. The 10% off coupon we received afterward doesn’t really make up for the fact that the game didn’t run as it should have, so unfortunately we likely won’t...

We went later in the night on a Friday (I think about 8:20) and everything started out fine but once we asked for 1 hint we started getting hints for everything. Literally non stop until we escaped the room, none of them asked for besides for the initial hint. We would pick up something and be told what to do after only 10 seconds of fidgeting around with it to figure out what to do. I also didn’t appreciate how the puzzles in the room were set up, the game master kept telling us to not mess with certain locks or boxes because we “bypassed the clue”, and if that’s true then that’s a poorly designed escape room. Once we escaped and left, I noticed the game master left the building only a couple minutes after us (we were talking about the poor experience in the parking lot). It seems like we had a bad experience because the worker wanted to get home quick since we were the last booking of the night. We paid for an hour and should have been able to use all of that time if needed, but most of it was guided step by step by the game master who was working the evening of 3/21/25. I’ve gone here before and liked it, but it looks like if you want to actually be able to think for yourself you’ll have to go before 8pm (which didn’t work out for us the day we were...

We did the Wizard room and while the actual escape room seemed fine we wasted at least half the time as it felt like the game master was not paying attention…. we got a black light which I guess the batteries were dead and tried informing the game master but she didn’t say anything so we figured maybe there was something we were missing to get it to turn on. Two times we tried asking for clues with no response wasting even more of our time. Then, one clue she gave was something we had already solved so we thought there was another element to it, wasting even more time on that. There was also one voice command we had to say to turn the lights on or off, at least 3 times we asked for the lights to switch and she did nothing so we just moved on and tried something else. We ended up only solving maybe 3 total puzzles due to wasting time thinking we were missing something when the game master should have stepped in. The black light not working should have been the most obvious, we even asked afterwards if there was something to turn it on or if the batteries were dead and she seemed confused, just shrugged it off, and said not sure. Like what does that even mean? Honestly this seems like not a bad place just try paying more attention to the people...
