I visited Montauk for the firs time this summer with my girlfriends from college who wanted to get together here. All of the other places everyone was staying at were very simillar, small homes or small motels, tons of people crowded into one room, going out all day and all night so not really spending any time in the room as it is. Our room was very clean, but the furniture and appliances were very old, plus the sheets were brown paisley, which made you a bit unsure of what kind of stains it contained since you could really see them haha. The owner of the motel I think lives on site because she was there every day and every night keeping track of everyone and everything, which on the one hand made us feel very safe, and on the other made us feel very watched! The very greatest thing is montauk motel is located smack in the middle of everything, and only feet walking from the beach, bars, restaurants and more, location couldnt be better, I would recommend it for this alone. Oh and one more thing for those new to montauk, IT IS EXPENSIVE, prepare to spend $100 at the bare minimum a day on food and alcohol and many places...
Read moreWe had a wedding to attend in Montauk and had a difficult time trying to find something reasonably priced. We booked a room at the Montauk Motel with 2 double beds and kitchen efficiency. It was myself, my husband, our daughter and granddaughter. For our needs this was perfect! Glamorous it is not. It's very basic, dated but very clean thanks to Dorothy who does a fantastic job. But to us what was more important was the care and friendliness of the owners. We checked in and we're just getting settled when there was a knock at the door. One of the owners, Debbie, realized the room she put us in only had a shower, not good with a year old baby. She changed our room to one with a bathtub. I thought this was very thoughtful and we appreciated her concern. It is conveniently located within walking distance of everything: restaurants, post office, shopping, ocean beach. The pool is quite lovely and there is a pretty gazebo on the property. All in all it was...

They don't supply you with shampoo, hairdryer, or room phone. Just bring your own. I call it a budget hotel because it fit my budget. If you are going to town bring cash with you because a lot of places only take cash. They also have a pool you could use and a picnic table, and charcoal grill. Our room came with a kitchenette with coffeepot, refrigerator, dishes, silverware, microwave and air conditioner. Our bed was comfortable. If we are in the area again, we would stay...
