By S. Carrelli: Homeport is my favorite store in Montauk by far! They had cute trinkets on the ground floor, like little decorative things, magnets, tiny games, adult books, and more. You think it couldn’t possibly get any better, but trust me, it does! Take a trip downstairs, and you will find a space chock full of great kids’ chapter and comic books, toys, and more! I can’t go to Homeport and leave without getting anything. They always have the best selection of books, have the most fun toys, and best of all, are dog friendly! They have dog treats and water ready to go for your pup! A fun interactive part of Homeport is when you go downstairs they have a wall you can sign with some markers they have. Was very disappointed to witness the woman working behind the counter here denying a VERY pregnant woman and her small toddler access to the bathroom. The little boy was doing the pee pee dance and obviously couldn’t hold it. She rudely directed them to public bathrooms about a quarter mile away. I understand having a policy against public access to bathrooms, but they were paying customers and the boy couldn’t have been more than 3 years old. I guess I just expected more empathy from people. We bought two “Beadz Alive” squish balls for our granddaughters. One of the balls exploded in the house we are renting. The contents of the ball was all over my 5 year old granddaughter, splattered and stained many items and bedding in the home. The headboard of the master bedroom is upholstered and ruined. My husband went in to the store to tell them to take the toys off the shelves, they nonchalantly said “sorry that happened” . Did not offer the $16 refund or ask how they can help. We spent hundreds of dollars there during our two week stay, but...
