Okay so I wasn’t impressed. I may be a bit harsh but i just didn’t love any dish we tried. I came by with two friends and we split an appetizer, salad, pasta and pizza- overall consensus was that the appetizer was the only thing we enjoyed. The arancini was good- not great but good. The ceasar salad has homemade dressing so it’s VERY VERY fishy. The pasta we tried was okay- a nice spicy vodka sauce but the price for one meatball that was only okay is insane. The pizza again was okay- the pepperoni was pretty thick and you can just find better pizza being in New York. We didn’t try any drinks but the water offered was tap and definitely tasted like it. For around $40 a person after tip, i hoped to have enjoyed more (i know thats not much nowadays but splitting the food up between three people and still paying that much was a bit much for me).
The server was very nice, i didn’t catch his name but very attentive and quick with anything we needed. The other staff was also very helpful clearing plates fast as we finished.
We didn’t wait more than five minutes for a table which is great. There isn’t a ton of seating and i could imagine it would be a longer wait for any group over four.
Last critique- there was a piece of hair in one of our silverware sets. I get it, it happens but it was a bit off putting. Our server grabbed us a new set when we notified him and didn’t say anything about it.
Overall I wouldn’t come back and probably wouldn’t...
Read moreI’m going to need to start by saying that I am an extremely picky eater, and beyond that I’ve always been a tough critic. Montauk has a lot of great restaurants, no doubt. But often it comes down to the ambiance more so than the quality of food. Service is a whole other story. Needless to say I keep my expectations in check, but when I see whipped ricotta on a menu. Well I get a hard on for whipped ricotta, that alone is the reason I’ll go to the Crow’s Nest. So I got to talking with the manager over at Alimentari, and he turned out to be an awesome human. Always down for a laugh and a chat, and he makes the restaurant experience personal. You come back to see him. He sold me on their take on whipped ricotta. I won’t write home about it, it doesn’t deserve to be over explained. Let’s just say I’ll never need to be subjected to waiting around a gaggle of teeny bops copping their sunset pic for a little bread and cheese again.
Highly recommend stopping into Alimentari. Whether it’s for some pizza, maybe just a coffee, or just because you’re bored. Just don’t forget an espresso martini while you’re at it. I promise you won’t shoot...
Read moreTwo private chefs on our day off, first the only reason for the 4 star was the wait to get our food once we ordered, 40 minutes. Great quality food ingredients, well prepared, hot and fresh. Chatted with the GM a little after we paid and told him we liked everything but the wait. He then informed me they had just started their season and were not fully staffed quite yet (which finding quality staff out here is a problem) and there was a three day music festival they had town busting = everything checked out. 🙂 In the end, EAT HERE = the bag of Caputo BLUE flour that just so happened to be sitting on the counter told me these guys don't mind spending for the good stuff, just don't come starving, but if you do, the food is worth the wait. We are working here all summer and will continue to review restaurants in the Hamptons area. Have a great dinner! 🍽️ Two people, spent $120 with tip, one...
