In a word: no.
Yes, the location is perfect, the AC worked well, and the décor is cute, but those are the only positives.
The first bad sign was making the reservation. There's very little info--not even terms & conditions--available as you're completing the reservation. They make you pay 100% up front, then send you a follow-up email saying no refunds or credits under any circumstances and recommend you purchase travel insurance that costs as much as 2 or 3 nights at their "inn." LOL. More fool me for going through with purchasing our stay despite the lack of transparency on the reservation site. I'm feeling very fortunate our plans didn't need to change!
When we arrived, we couldn't get into our room. We had been emailed a lockbox code but no idea which lockbox the code belonged to. We called the inn number, but no one picked up. They finally got back to us nearly half an hour later. The woman I spoke to was very sweet, but said she was in Atlanta?? Atlanta is nearly five hours away from Tybee. No matter how nice she was, the delay in response plus her literal absence made it very clear we were all on our own should we encounter another problem at the property. (Need more towels? Fresh set of sheets? TOO BAD.)
They provide exactly one physical key with no other method to access your room. So if you're staying with a partner, the only way to come & go independently is to keep the key in the lockbox outside and have to futz with it each time you enter & exit. (The door itself did have an electronic number pad lock, which would have been great, but apparently it's not in use. Is it because it would be too much work to change the code between each reservation? Who knows!)
The bed was not comfy. It felt firm at first, but became lumpy and mishapen after you had laid down for a little while. No idea why these other reviews say the beds are comfy unless some of the other rooms have different mattresses. Cheap, uncomfortable furniture everywhere. Very "got this on sale from Wayfair" vibes.
There was a full kitchen, but not a full set of cookware and utensils. They don't provide pantry staples like cooking oil, which is fine! But the kitchen was otherwise too barebones to be functional even if you did bring all of your own ingredients.
So yeah, skip this place unless you like to...
Read moreThe rooms are great, the location prime. I have two issues, but otherwise, honestly, every positive review posted below is accurate or doesn't do the place justice. We just loved it. The place was quiet, no one really around, so it is nice for a couple who want to keep to themselves, and in season, the place has got to be fun as hell. Tybee is great, we plan to comeback. My two complaints were noisy neighbors (to the West) on the first night, St. Patty's day--expect similar during the season. That was no big deal really, and besides what can the Inn folks do about it? The second complaint though, they can and should fix. They say they have Wifi, but the signal is too weak to reach beyond the front rooms' kitchen. That is unacceptable for the price. I could not sit on the balcony and read the news, answer emails, or work on the Inn network. My work goes where I do, whether I am on vacation or no, and if it weren't for some wide open network we pirated into, we would have had to spend our time in the Kitchen trying to check email on the terrible Inn network--and we spent too much time doing that as it was. So, my compliant is simple, they MUST fix that Wifi, buy a signal booster and/or a new router, or relocate the current router from the office to inside the Inn. A $50 dollar signal booster would extend the signal out to the street. Although, considering how patchy the router was, a new one is may be in order, so about $200. So $50-$200 to make me entirely happy the next time I come back for a longer stay; although maybe they could just move the router, in which case its maybe $15 for some cable.
Oh, and leave enough coffee in the room for the whole stay, hunting around town for coffee was a bummer; although there is a place around the corner, we didn't see it until we...
Read moreThis was our first trip here. This place is adorable, aesthetically! It is very small, but was fine for two adults. The door is very hard to open, close, and lock. It is an old building that has been renovated (you can tell by the doors and windows). We got used to it! The location was perfect for us. Very easy walk to the beach and bars, restaurants, even a coffee shop (but they have a coffee maker in the kitchen as well as a blender and toaster)! There is only one small skillet, so if you plan on cooking, Iâd bring a bigger one, but again we made it work with the pots and pans provided. You are only given two towels/wash clothes and 2 rolls of toilet paper so I packed extra for us (which was good because one of the provided ones was dirty)! The building is definitely not sound proof, you can hear above you and outside. The bed is so comfortable, sheets and blankets super soft! There is spotty service on the island depending on your carrier, nothing terrible, it just comes and goes, which is kind of nice if you wanna unplug. They do have a shared outdoor area with Jenga and corn hole, lots of seats, and a grill. Loved that! But you also have your private porch (we stayed in #2). The other guests were very nice. We were a little worried about the parking, this street wasnât super busy when we were there but we were very thankful for the parking pass. That is a huge plus for this place (and itâs why we picked it)! We really enjoyed our stay and this area! Highly recommend going into Savannah for a break from the beach, this was the only time we had to pay for parking (it is a busy city but lots of fun). We love...
