9th Street Grill — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

Took my daughter for lunch,had to send her salmon back twice for well done. The 3rd time it was bought back they had taken half of the salmon off her plate, guess they just couldn't cook the entire Salmon well done. The watress Emma was nice and asked if I wanted a mgr, told her No, and tipped. I will never eat here again. I was on my way to another restaurant but my daughter insisted we eat outside here. Emma asked for a card to be on file, never had that before, so I asked if I had to actually pay with the one she has, was advised No. She closed out the tab, I paid and tipped with a different card. Today, I see they charged me the tip on the card they initially took, AND also got the tip from the card I paid. I called today to speak with a mgr to square it out ecire I csll my bank, some guy picks up the phone, very rude, and states mgr not in, he'll be in tomorrow, I asked for rhe mgr name, was told Amin,not sure how to spell it. About five minutes later I get a call from the SAME GUY who tells me to call back tomorrow,being very short asking me what I needed. I asked are you the same one who told me to call back tomorrow, he s , YES,I CAN HELP YOU, WHAT DO YOU NEED?? I then asked are you the manager, he says NO, BUT WHAT DO YOU NEED? I said he just told me he couldn't help,he says YEH, BECAUSE IM BUSY..wait, what? Busy? I told him he's rude and I would call back to speak with mgr. I will NOT give them my money again. Avoid this place at all costs. I wish I read the other reviews before I went. The food was mediocre at best, and was grossly overpriced. The pics of the food also falsely advertise ingredients they don't actually put in some of the meals, so we were disappointed before the first bite. But the worst part of our experience was the appalling customer service. They billed us incorrectly for the items we purchased and instead of being apologetic, the owner attempted nickel and dime us to make the correction. When we requested to have an item removed from the bill because it wasn't as advertised, our bill wound up higher after it was removed, resulting in an argument when we tried to point out that another mistake had been made. We also witnessed 2 girls come in who intended to dine there but needed to use the restroom first. They were told they needed to make their purchase first before they'd be allowed to use it. Lousy customer service. Exorbitant prices. And subpar food. I've read the "owner's" response on the other reviews and can say with certainty they're not written by him. His spoken English doesn't match the written responses, so I suspect that's more deception on their part. Just...

Food was okay, nothing bad but nothing to write home about. I had the gyro and shared fried mushrooms with my boyfriend. The mushrooms came with marinara sauce, which was unexpected, but I was too tired to get up and ask for anything different. 😂 The fries were very plain, I don't think they even had salt on them but there was salt on the table.

I didn't have any, but some of the ice cream looked like it had melted and refroze too many times or was freezer burnt? Idk but it didn't look appetizing.

The place itself looks like it could use some updating, it seemed to be a little run-down. Again, not terrible, but not great.

The bathroom was awful though. It was the middle of a heatwave but man it smelled horrible. And there was no AC in there so it made it ten times worse. It was a sewer type smell, not like a smell from someone using it.

Overall, if you need some quick food, this will get the job done, the staff was friendly, and they bring your food to the table for you, the fried food was cooked fresh to order, but I wouldn't go out of my way...
