Very nice staff Especially Maryna, the maid, was lovely amazing deserves a raise Room was very small for the price. Parking garage was very tight and BEWARE that people who park there do not care to hit your car with their doors. My car was dinged and paint chipped off on the last night of our stay woke up in the morning with a ding in my driver side door even though I always closed my mirrors inward to make more space. Very annoyed about that. Should not occur on a trip but that is just people being careless. The staff was very friendly and always greeted us when entering and leaving. Check out was easy and quick and check in was decently quick too. Their pool was decent on the 5th floor but was not heated. The ocean view was probably the best thing about the room, but if you dig deeper and book soon you can probably get that somewhere else too. They have a restaurant attached to the hotel called jumpin shrimp, but honestly I would NOT recommend. We had dinner there one night and did not want to go back. My partner ordered food and it came very spicy with Chile flakes but the ingredients did not mention anything remotely spicy they mentioned "zesty" when I complained they said oh we mentioned it was zesty.. last time I checked zest is from lemons but the dish had no lemons at ALL. I felt bad for the waitress because she tried her best, but the kitchen staff did not care about her complaining for us. We came back the next morning because we had breakfast passes associated with the hotel and the waitress was lovely named Nadia, if you can get her you will have great service. We got breakfast the next morning and the waitress did not care for us at all very minimal service. We than started ordering out because we couldn't always get Nadia and the girl at the hostess stand, I didn't get her name, was super friendly too she had cute gems on her teeth, she was lovely too. The hotel has a small gym but had dumbbells and ellipticals and weights and ab station which I found very cool. The hotel had a little store associated with it which you can rent bikes from which we did do one day. We paid 42$ for 2 hrs for a two seater bike. The location of the hotel was amazing! VA beach has free shows / concerts daily and they are walking distance which is amazing. Many nice cute shops and food places nice restaurants buffets bars and attractions like a haunted house on the strip. Overall location was great. If the pricing was different I would stay again but overall it was way to expensive for us for a small room with only a bathroom two beds and a microwave and small fridge. Like I mentioned before the best part was the view of the ocean, but even than make sure you book during a good time since we couldn't really swim in the ocean considering the temperature and that we had spotted jellyfish and one girl had gotten stung right in front of us forcing us to not want to be in the water at all after that. We did see dolphins in the water a bit away from the shore which was lovely. Walking on the beach...
Read moreI have been a Sheraton SPG member for many years. I have never been disappointed in any of the properties that I have visited before. However, that has now changed. I stayed at the Four Points Sheraton on Virginia Beach, Atlantic Boulevard location during the week of April 15 – 21. I must say that when we entered the lobby, it was very nice. However, my perception immediately changed when I got off the elevator and entered my room. I was completely disappointed. In preparation for my vacation, I redeemed points and made payments towards my stay. Imagine my reaction when I exited the elevator, began walking down the hall, and then realized that the floors are slanted! It was very uncomfortable walking to and from the elevators. My disappointment was further magnified when I opened my room door. The slanted floor continued into my room! The slant made the bed very uncomfortable to sleep in for any extended period.
Exacerbating the situation were the lack of amenities in the room. The beds and pillows need to be addressed; they were not comfortable at all and do not exemplify the Sheraton brand. The rooms also need some sound proofing. The noise level coming from the hallway and the rooms beside with me was so bad that I had to request a new room. Lastly, simple safety concerns such as a grab bar in the bathroom would be helpful.
In terms of cleanliness, I think housekeeping needs to do a better job cleaning the balcony doors. I assume there was a small child that had been residing in the room sometime before me as there were tiny handprints all over the balcony doors that looked out onto the beach. Small items like the hem of the curtains were very raggedy and need to be either fixed or replaced. None of these complaints and concerns belong in the Sheraton brand!
It is unfortunate that my vacation was interrupted and effected by the above complaints. Never should it be that the lobby by far outweighs the actual sleeping quarters. I am so disappointed! I would like to be compensated for my stay. It was not the vacation I desired, anticipated, or was promised by your advertising. The property is described as “world class” and is listed as a “SPG Category 4”; that was NOT the stay I had. The lack of comfort and my increasing frustrations during the entire week prompted me to leave early. I checked out on Friday instead of Saturday. I just couldn’t take another day. My Children were disappointed, but I was more disappointed that we had been short changed by Sheraton!
I worked hard to pay for my vacation, and the Four Points Sheraton on Virginia Beach did not represent the brand well at all. I look forward to a prompt response to my concerns, and hope the issues within your property are addressed. I have stayed at many Sheraton properties, and I know you...
Read moreI'm very sad to say that our stay at the Four Points Sheraton Virginia Beach was nothing short of a nightmare.
I booked the hotel for one night directly from SPG online, it was pricier than expected for one night, but I chalked it up to the Category 4 rating and oceanfront views. I planned to extend my stay for another night depending on how my children were feeling (one had a slight cold). I requested an early check-in of 11:00AM and a late check-out of 4:00PM. I did see that these times are considered a request and not guaranteed, regular check-in times are 4:00PM and check-out at 11AM.
We arrived to the front desk at 11:30AM. We were told that our room was not ready and that we would have to wait. We went out for lunch, when we returned at 1:00PM we were again told the room was not ready. My younger child needed to take her medicine and nap, we were not able to do so. We kept waiting and stalling, but no sign of a ready room for us. When 4:00PM approached, we were looking forward to finally putting our things down and enjoying our one booked night at the Four Points Virginia Beach.
I am completely serious when I tell you we were checked into our room at 8:05PM!!! We were checked-in a full 9 HOURS AFTER OUR REQUESTED CHECK-IN TIME. I have never in my life experienced such poor customer service. I was near tears knowing that we paid for a single night at the beach and did not even get to enjoy it. My daughter could not get any rest and I would certainly not be extending our stay an extra night.
The front desk felt bad for us and allowed us to check-out at 2:00PM the following day (though, we requested 4:00PM). When we entered our room, it was very clear the sheets were fluffed and not changed, we found multiple hairs under the blankets and put down towels to sleep on.
We were informed the following day that customer service was willing to offer us 25% off what we paid for our horrendous stay. Even though I am an SPG member, I don't travel too often. Nevertheless, the service I received here was nothing short of 1-star worthy. Lastly, they did not remember to even offer us the 25% off on our final invoice and charged us the full amount for our stay. We are still waiting for the refund...
Please do yourself a favor and avoid this SPG location. It's really not worth it, especially if you have a family. I am a reasonable customer and I
