We have previously been happy with our experience at QSL York, PA but last night was disappointing. The food was good but the service was terrible. Being a server can be difficult and everyone has a bad day now and then but the entire staff, with exception of the friendly hostess, seemed disinterested. Our waitress was not attentive enough; 2 drinks sat empty for an extended period of time, she disappeared for long periods of time and when she emerged she was talking on her phone. When on the floor she was literally hanging on the hostess station, her back to the restaurant with her head on her arms. Another time she was practically sitting on a ledge near the door. Towards the end of our meal she delivered the check without asking if we needed refills, would like dessert, etc. (we enjoyed dessert elsewhere btw) It was not near closing time nor were other customers waiting for our table. Maybe end of her shift?? Several employees could be seen on their phones, sitting at empty tables (ok if on break but did not appear to be the case), chatting in small groups with one another, and seeming generally disinterested in their job and duties. It was not crowded in the restaurant but there were patrons scattered about (at least 4 parties of 4 or more) and several customers at the bar. Sadly, our experience last evening was underwhelming. I hope the level of attentiveness, friendliness, interest and customer service is addressed. Standing back observing tables while chatting with coworkers is acceptable in my opinion when not busy but when we can't find our server for drink refills and can't get anyone else to assist despite them leaning on the hostess station, that's poor service. On a positive note, the hostess that greeted us at the door was friendly, efficient and met our request of a table over a booth. Some of her fellow coworkers could learn from her...
Read moreJust had the worst experience ever in a restaurant. While the general timeframe of service was acceptable, the night was ruined by a trainer training an employee, the receipt said Lauryn but that could’ve been the trainee’s name.
The 8 of us had a great evening, up until I merely asked why my 16 oz beer was $3.00 while the 64 oz pitcher was $15. You thought that I slandered her firstborn child. She got angry with me and exaggerated that if she brought out 100 cups the price of the pitcher would remain the same price. So I thought she wasn’t following my logic. I tried to explain to her the simple math which frustrated her further. She started to dismiss my comment by taking me as being mad, asking if I wanted a discount. I didn’t want a discount I just wanted to know if there was an error. Needless to say she again suggested the manager. So I said sure go ahead. She goes, gets the manager who promptly figures out in mere seconds that I ordered the 16 oz. beer in happy hour and the pitcher outside of happy hour. Perfect explanation. Then she interrupts the answer by saying “I don’t make the prices and now I have a customer asking me to explain it” then saying in an annoyed manner as opposed to being excused for her retort how she just got back from having her wisdom teeth pulled and now she has to train someone, like I was inconveniencing her. Absolute insanity. First time I ever had to go through this and thanks to the wife, still gave her a tip. Needless to say, this establishment will never be...
Read morePlaced a order online to be delivered to us between 6:20-6:40 p.m. 7:00 p.m. rolls around and nobody shows up. I call to see the whereabouts of our order. After the girl who answered the phone puts me on hold for 3-5 minutes, she informs me, "Yeah, your food has been sitting here for an hour." I ask, "Why didn't you deliver it?" and she responds, "Oh, we don't do delivery unless it's through Uber Eats or Door Dash." Would have been nice to know that. The website should have prevented us from choosing delivery if it wasn't an option! I drive down to the restaurant to pick up my food. The girl at the window, Jordyn, seems clueless that I even had an order. After waiting another 3-5 minutes, Jordyn comes back with my food and simply hands it to me and wishes me a good day. I could have (maybe should have) driven off without paying. Fortunately, I have a conscious and morals and hand Jordyn the money before she closes the window in my face. I request exact change back because there's no way I'm giving a tip at this point. It takes her another 3-5 minutes to get me my change. The moral of the story is that the food is great, but the service sucks. I guess that's what happens when you hire everybody from the local high school. If food is more important that service, you'll love it here, but if service is more important that food, you'll...
