Garfield Beach House — Hotel in Wildwood

Stayed here once. They allow pets and that is the biggest advantage. Close to beach as well. Rooms are OK and service staff was OK.

Booked again. Our stay was scheduled during the power outage. I had to cancel because of health reasons, we were bringing food,I have a kid, I have a pet. We could not stay where there was no power in the rooms. I get in 100% not their fault.

We called the day of our check in to see when power would be restored. First it was 3. Then 5. Then 9. At that point we decided to just scrap the whole thing. As I called to inquire, and ultimately try to cancel our reservation, the lady on the phone was of no help. As soon as I mentioned cancelling all of the sudden it went from 9PM back on to any minute now and they are going to purchase generators. Super shady.

I filed a dispute with my credit card for the charges. I received a call/texts from who I think was the owner of the property, Christian. He said he would offer a 100% credit if I would cancel the disputes. I said no. He then said he would offer a 100% refund. Again I said no. He goes on to tell me he is trying to help me because my card will not be refunded due to their policies and the policies of the site I booked through. Super shady. I mentioned this to my credit card and they advised to keep the dispute open.

In the end I received a 100% refund from my card. I would not stay here again solely based on the fact that...

This is by far the works experience I have ever encountered. From the moment we arrived we had problems. Number one they gave us the wrong room. Number two the second room AC unit broken and we were sweating. We called front desk office no one answered. Finally maintenance arrives tells us we have to move again to another room after we have settled in. Finally the third room the AC unit works fine. The front door had white writing that says help! Oh and it gets even worse my baby sister fell through the bump bed because it was missing a wood panel. She woke up with bruises all over her legs and thighs. My aunt who reserved the room explained the situation at the front desk and the women did not seem to care. She never even apologized for the inconvenience of everything we went through. I’ve been coming down to wildwood for years and never experienced...

Good wifi, excellent A/C, easy parking, pet friendly, 1-bedroom apt. near the beach. Seemed clean, and we appreciated all the "wear a mask" signs, even if few people obeyed them. But I've never before paid $250 a night and not had a place to sit down. The "living/dining" area had one table with four ice cream parlor chairs--the type you want to spend no more than 10 minutes in--and that was it. No sofa, no sitting area. We brought our beach chair upstairs so we at least had a place to read and talk It also seemed they went out of their way to remove places to hang things in the bathroom. No towel bars or shelves, tiny sink. It was very odd. These are easy things to improve; the question is, why would you remove ordinary amenities from a rental space? We won't...
