Sea Ray Motel — Hotel in Wildwood

I dont normally do reviews this is actually my first one EVER, however I felt it necessary to do this , I booked this room on expedia, then a month later had to cancel unfortunately to the passing of my daughter, the woman at the front desk was incredibly insensitive, they charged me for the room a month later, i understand the cancellation policy, However I was hopeful that there would be some level of humanity and understanding of my situation, and some level of having a heart and consideration of my familys loss. ( and the fact that they were for sure not out of any many due to it being one of the most busy weekends of the summer) they had booked the room with ease since my cancellation. NOT EVEN A DEPOSIT .. but the entire amount.. I contacted the front desk to which they said to call expedia, I did that and expedia actually called sea ray on a two way call to then which the sea ray said basically they didnt want to refund me. You would think a busy establishment such as this would be a little more considerate and empathetic to a potential future guest who had to cancel A WHOLE MONTH in advance due to a devastating loss. I WILL NEVER recommend a place to anyone who has ZERO sympathy for their future potential guest. For a situation that I wish I could have helped Emergencys happen I wish you would understand that. My heart is broken...

First thing I would like you the reader to do, is ignore all of the negative reviews of this motel. It's not the Ritz-Carlton, we know this, so why people criticize it as if it is, is beyond me. This is a mom and pop motel across the street from the ocean. It is well-apportioned, it is immaculate, smells clean because it IS clean, beds are just fine. Cold, large fridge. Spacious rooms. It is ridiculous how reasonably priced it is for what it is. The best thing about this motel is Monica, the host/motel attendant/owner (not sure). She is the sweetest person who attended to every possible need we could've had. So kind and polite. She moved us to a larger room simply because it was available (late cancellation), she allowed us to check out an hour later, just because. (I simply asked her what time check out was just to confirm it was 10am, and she said "11am is fine.") She frantically looked for and found a blow dryer for me. Monica belongs at the Ritz-Carlton, actually. I am 50, and I stayed here for a wrestling tournament for my 13 year old son. We slept like babies, very quiet, just an overall very pleasant stay. We got here 9:30pm, very last minute bc the room we originally booked, the hotel wasn’t even open yet for the season, so we had to find a cheap hotel asap. We pulled into the Sea Ray & the manager was so nice & accommodating! She overheard me say that I was freezing so she went and got a small heater to put in our room so I could warm up, she also brought an extra blanket in case I needed it! We were running a little late this morning checking out, she was very understanding, didn’t bang on the door or have an attitude, nothing, she was just very kind! You would think this place was a “dive” hotel/motel, BUT honestly, The room, really the whole place, well everything that I saw anyway, was by far one of the cleanest I have been in down here! And the beds, OH MY GAWD, so comfy!!! I laid down to read n the second I stretched out, I was already in sleep land 😴 The room has a full apartment size fridge that has a full sized freezer.
