My husband grew up spending summers in Wildwood, NJ, as his family had a place there until they sadly sold it. Despite that, his love for Wildwood remains strong. For the past decade, we've brought our three children here, staying at different places each year. Last year, we finally found our perfect spot at Crystal Sands Motel.||Just a few days ago, we returned home from our annual family vacation at Crystal Sands, and I already can't wait to go back! This was our second consecutive year staying there, and I can confidently say it's become our home away from home for future vacations. Here are some highlights from our stay:||Positives:||Impeccable Cleanliness: Cleanliness is super important to me, and the Crystal Sands Motel exceeds expectations. The rooms, the pool, the property—everything is always spotless. This level of cleanliness is truly impressive and appreciated.||Family-Like Atmosphere: The owner, Dave, is wonderful. He goes above and beyond to make you feel at home and part of the Crystal Sands family. Need anything? Dave will make it happen. His dedication to the motel, including his constant cleaning, contributes to the welcoming environment.||Perfect Location: Situated right off Rio Grande and only a block away from the boardwalk and beach, the location is unbeatable. There's so much to do nearby: a delicious ice cream shop next door, a breakfast/lunch spot a 15-second walk down the street, Kohrs Bros Ice Cream around the corner, an awesome mini-golf place, bike rentals at the end of the street on the boardwalk, and the beach, the beginning of the boardwalk, the WW sign, and Convention Center all just a block away!||Affordable Pricing: You truly cannot beat the price, especially compared to other hotels on the island. Dave isn't price gouging like other places, and everything is very reasonably priced. I always prefer to save money on a room and use that saved money for activities and dining out.||Cons:||Retro Style: The motel has a 50s-era Wildwood style, which many people like and enjoy. It doesn’t bother me, but it might turn off guests who prefer a more modern look.||Firm Beds: The beds can be a bit on the harder side. Some people might prefer this, but it's worth noting.||Long Walk to the Beach: This isn't the motel's fault, but the beach at this spot is probably the longest in all of Wildwood. It took me about 10 minutes to walk from the boardwalk to the water. To combat the long walk, call the beach taxi service—they’ll pick you up on the boardwalk or at the beginning of the beach and drive you to the water.||Despite these minor cons, the pros outweigh them by a long shot. We absolutely love it at the Crystal Sands Motel and cannot wait to go back! I am hoping we can go for a long weekend again this summer for our oldest kiddo's birthday.||Thank you, Crystal Sands Motel, for another fantastic family vacation!||— The...
Read moreWe were recently there for the weekend and it wasn’t a great experience at all. Firstly, we were disappointed with the way the motel looks, because the pictures on the website gave it a completely different look and feel. When we went to check in, the lady at the counter didn’t even bother to smile or greet us. When she issued the parking permit, she told us that it’s one car per room, and we had travelled in two cars—my husband and I from NJ and my friends from VA! She was like I can’t do anything, you go figure! She told us that if we were to violate any rules we would be ‘kicked put’ without a refund! I have never ever heard a front desk person use such language. When we opened the room, it had a strange smell! The WiFi wouldn’t work for all of our stay. I went and asked if there were some issues with the WiFi and was told that it’s working and it’s probably my phone (iPhone XS) issue. One of the lamp wouldn’t work in the room. Also if you ask for a late checkout, there is additional $20 charge for every hour of overstay! This place is overpriced with mediocre service and amenities. Only plus is location! Not going back! Too many fine prints that you find out only when you’re in...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a clean family friendly hotel, this is the place. The hotel is very clean and smells good when you walk in. The cleaning lady was very nice and gave us fresh towels everyday. The pool is the perfect size along with a crossed off area just for the kiddos! The pool is very clean, they clean it every night. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioner worked amazing! The mini fridge worked wonders and helped us freeze our water bottles to take along to the beach. Right around the corner is ice cream shops, miniature golf and a bagel cafe, the boardwalk and beach is very close as well. This hotel I would 100% recommend. It is very tidy and well taken care of. The owner Dave was very kind and helped us with whatever we needed. They don’t have ice machines but they do have an ice freezer which you can get the owner and he will fill your ice bucket up for you for free! 10/10 best hotel in...
