Mixed Experience – Needs Attention to Detail
We recently stayed at this B&B in Wimberley and had high hopes based on the charming setting. Unfortunately, several issues made our stay less enjoyable than expected.
On our first night, we discovered that the septic tank located right outside our window was overflowing. This caused an extremely unpleasant odor and also led to plumbing issues — our toilet stopped flushing properly. We eventually had to move to a different room on the second day because of this.
In both rooms, cleanliness was a concern. The floors didn’t appear to have been swept; walking barefoot left our feet noticeably dirty. There were also bugs in the room, which added to the discomfort and gave the impression that the space hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned or sealed. The second room also lacked a table, which we had in the first room and found useful for storing our things.
Other concerns included the lack of outdoor lighting around the pool area, making it difficult to navigate at night. While there were underwater pool lights, there was no surrounding lighting for safety or ambiance. There was also no wood provided for the fire pit, which we had looked forward to using. The beds were quite uncomfortable and sagged significantly in the middle. Lastly, the air conditioning unit didn’t cool the room well, leaving it warm and stuffy, especially during the heat of the day.
There were some nice features — the general location is peaceful, and the layout has potential — but overall, the property could benefit from more attention to cleanliness, maintenance, and guest comfort.
With a few key improvements, this could be a much more enjoyable and...
Read moreMy family and I stayed here the week of July 11th. We had a wonderful time. Wimberley is easily accessible to San Marcos as well as New Braunfels-- which we visited both on our vacation. The lady we dealt with was extremely nice and I would highly recommend these cute little cabins for nice getaways. There is a pool on site, as well as a barbecue pit / grill for cooking. We did see several spiders outside in the window area and trees, but those kept the bugs away so we were very grateful. The rooms we stayed in had a king size bed, big couch with a pull out bed, bathroom had a stand up shower, and we also had a full kitchen (with a mini fridge). The tv was on the smaller side, but we had really no time for tv except for the kids to watch in the morning. They also have wifi access and keyless entry with a code which is great so you don't have to worry about keeping up with keys especially with so many water activities in the area.
The only downside to Wimberley is the shops and grocery store does not open early and they close very early, so if you want to walk around and see the shops I suggest double checking the times. Other than that, my family and I had a wonderful vacation. It is the perfect spot if you're looking for a quiet cabin that's not far away from...
Read moreIt was.... ok... More like 2.5 stars
We stayed in unit 2. It was a HUGE room with a TINY bathroom... an itty bitty sink, RV type shower, and toilet too close to the wall. Seemed VERY silly in this spacious room.
The AC worked well, the wifi was good, the bed was old and too soft, but the linens were good. There was no shampoo, conditioner, or body wash. TINY trashcans with very thin garbage bags. Some minor bugs
It was nice to be able to do a one night rental, and it was VERY close to the square so that was nice.
Unit 2 had NO windows AT ALL. Odd feeling. There is a glass wall and a "hallway" facing the road for units 1-4, but once you step into your door, no more window.
If it had been less expensive, I may have given it 4 stars because it was okay... but at $250 a night, I would expect something a...
