Oldies Burgers and More — Restaurant in Wimberley

This review is primarily in response to a review I just read posted yesterday.

I find it hard to believe that someone would go to such lengths to write a bad review and base the entire experience on race. Numerous times the previous reviewer referred to the staff at Oldies as “WHITE”. I know for a fact that the “WHITE” girl behind the counter is 1/4 Korean. How rude to assume someone’s ethnicity based on outward appearance alone. Seems that those screaming about race and division are the very ones causing the problem of race and division. The other customer she claimed cut in front of them…. Was only picking up her “to go order” and was not cutting in line due to her being WHITE…. The other customer was a familiar face, a regular, if you will, at Oldies and her food was bagged and ready to go. Seems to me the lovely girl behind the counter was giving good customer service by recognizing this familiar face and getting this customer her food quickly so she could get her on her way and then she could tend to another customer. You stated that you were placing an order for 35 people. That is irrelevant….how was the cashier supposed to know that and what does it matter if you were there to order 35 or 3? People please put race, religion, etc aside and let’s all treat each other with respect and kindness and stop making assumptions.

Oldies burgers are phenomenal and while many are complaining about the prices, keep in mind the current economic situation we are in. ALL businesses have had to increase prices and that includes burgers and fries. Tracy is only doing what she has to do to keep her doors open and keep her employees paid! I don’t like paying $20 for a burger and fries either but I know I’m getting a great burger, I’m keeping my money local and I’m helping a local business owner and her employees. You can always drive down the road to McDonalds…Ranch Road 12 runs...

oldies burgers is one of the most disappointing experiences i’ve ever had. the first time i went there last year in the summer the food was excellent. this most recent time i arrived with my boyfriend and we ordered one burger each— the burgers do not come with fries or a drink, those are sold separately, which is a blatant scam. we also ordered fries each and drinks. the owner tracy is known to be a scam artist however as i have been told by someone who knows her. our order totaled out to $46, an outrageous price for what we ordered. not only that but after we received our food cramped in a single paper bag, she forgot our drinks and kept forgetting which drinks we ordered in the first place- which is astounding considering they only have four drink options. we first tried to order onion rings, and they said they were out of them which is confusing since right across the street is the local HEB where they could’ve sent an employee to get more ingredients. our fries were soggy and unseasoned and they have us sweet potato wedges instead of fries like we ordered. speaking of the wedges they were uncooked and completely uneven sizes. and my boyfriends burger buns were completely burnt, a common theme with oldies apparently. the owner tracy posted her own review saying a customer was lying in their review and posted hers with a 5 star rating, trying to skew the averages for her own restaurant. another thing, if you don’t look like an older, white, conservative you WILL get dirty looks from the staff and the occupants (who are all older, white, and conservative looking). if you aren’t any of those things you will feel unsafe in this place. do not recommend for tourists or locals. try durangos next door for good mexican food and good burgers and try the leaning pear for good soup and...

All restaurants have gone up in prices since a year ago...come on, really? Don't you have something better to poke at than that..please... while your on you $1200 phone.
