We checked in on Friday afternoon and spent less than an hour in the room before heading to one of our relatives homes to visit. We got back pretty late Friday night and immediately took a shower and went to sleep. We were up pretty early on Saturday morning to meet friends for breakfast before heading back to relatives for more visiting. We did not get back to the hotel Saturday until 11:45 pm. Upon entering the room and getting undressed, I went to straighten up the covers and fluff the pillows and noticed little spots under the pillows. We immediately pulled back all of the covers and saw at least 2 bed bugs (a baby and full sized one). My husband then pulled back the mattress and we saw a ton of bed bug black splatter (research to find out if you do not know) on the bed skirt along with 3 more large bed bugs. We stopped looking at that point as we were afraid of what else we would find. I immediately called the front desk and informed them. They stated they would call their GM and call me right back; however, they never called back so I went down to the front desk. He was not able to offer any assistance as the hotel was completely booked and so were all of the hotels in the area. I ended up lining the tub with fresh towels and sleeping in the tub and my husband took our son and laid him in his lap and they sleep in the office chair with their feet on top of the ottoman. We spent hours early that morning (as neither one of us got any sleep and were extremely sore) going through our belongings and sealing everything before placing in our luggage. Although our room was comped, we never heard from the GM or any other supervisor offering an apology or anything. I have sent emails...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed here for our 2nd time in the past seven months. I’d rate a five if it wasn’t for an Elevator issue. It a very convenient location with many good stores and restaurants near by. The staff is their biggest asset. All very friendly and helpful. We’ve spent at least two weeks total time here. It’s very clean and organized. Breakfast is simple and hearty but it’s what you’d expect from a non restaurant hotel. Prepared omelette hash browns sausage etc. They have a rotating schedule of similar items every few days. The house keeping staff is friendly and efficient. The pool was closed for the winter which was a bummer cuz I needed a hot tub after our long days to relax. Plenty of parking and bell hop carts all so it yourself. The suites are larger and have two TVs with typical Marriotts TV stations with HBO demand, crackle and Netflix options. Plenty of electric plugs and USB ports is awesome now days! The closets space for hanging clothes is very very limited and this brand of Marriotts all have very small hanging spaces. Showers a walk in with plenty of room and very up to date. I love these showers as they are larger and a safe walking texture so you don’t worry about sliding. They do need to fix their elevators! The west elevator has serious issues. Its a clunker and very slow to the point you get worried you might get trapped in it. For a three floor hotel these elevators are slower than the sixteen floor Marriott in St Louis Down Town. Use the East elevator closer to the front desk just incase. I would definitely stay again for all the positive items Happy...
Read moreWhen we stayed a few weeks ago, everything was new, the staff was friendly and everything seemed to be progressing in a positive direction.
Since then, our last stay was absolutely horrible. We were not greeted when we checked in, the evening attendant didn't even look up and she seemed to be bothered by the fact that we were checking in.
The room wasn't clean, there were cleaning supplies left in the room and the window was left open when we checked in and when we brought it to the desk attendants attention were asked "what would you like me to do?".
The elevator light was flashing saying "communication error" and instead of putting me at ease the lady at the desk said to me "its fine".
The toilet was clogged when we arrived. When I told the older unpleasnt lady at the desk she said with zero empathy "Well mam I dont know what u want me to do, Do you want to move?". I would have had I not been exhasuted and loaded a car full of luggage and sleeping children up 4 flights of stairs.
We went down for breakfast at 915am the next morning the bar was empty and filthy, the young girl, breakfast attendant was in the side door texting on her phone and when asked about replenishing, we were told it was close to closing, so that's all that would be out although breakfast was done at 10am according to the desk. The gentleman next to me and his daughter were having breakfast and told me they were waiting an hour for veggie sausage that she said she was cooking and never came out.
If they don't get a handle on their operations and get decent staff in there, they wont be around too...
