The room was fine, like the pictures, we thought we would have a balcony but did not, but that is okay. However, we did not have an actual window or functioning front door or solid front wall seperating us from the hallway. The wall was complety made from glass and the door did not close properly. As you can see on the photos. In front of said glass wall was a thin curtain, and because of the motion activated lights on the hallway and the see through, well lit elevator, we could constantly hear and see everything (which is especially annoying when you are trying to sleep).
There was a nice cleaning service that made the bed and changed your towels daily, but on two separate days, we came back to find our door left open. We only stayed there for four days and this happened the first two. We contacted the landlady about the issue the first time it happened but it happened again, and she gave us two solutions. One was to stop the daily cleaning service or to switch rooms. We opted for the first option, because it happened after each clean. To be clear, we did not leave our door open ourselves, and after the first time it happened the cleaners took a video to show they locked the door. We were assured that there were cameras in the hallway for when something would be missing/stolen, but it was not used as a preventative measure and the door should not be open anyway. So we still do not know how or who opened the door.
Despite the issues we had, it was a nice room, clean and the location was...
Read moreMy partner and I had an amazing time staying at this charming little studio near Hoàn Kiếm Lake! We couldn't have picked a better location. Every morning, we’d step outside and instantly find ourselves in the heart of Hanoi’s vibrant Old Quarter. The atmosphere was incredible! We loved exploring the narrow alleys, discovering hidden cafés, and stumbling upon the most delicious street food.||||The studio was our cozy retreat amidst the lively city. It’s not large, but it had everything we needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable – we slept so well after full days of sightseeing. What we enjoyed the most was returning in the evening, opening the window, and soaking in the faint sounds of the city as we relaxed. One more thing we really liked was the elevator, which is quite rare for a homestay in the Old Quarter. It was a great convenience after long days of exploring!||||If you're looking for an authentic Hanoi experience with a peaceful place to unwind, we highly recommend it! The location alone makes it worth...
Read more2 upsides: Helpful, friendly host AND the valued location (close to the Sword Lake and nice food and cafe' points). Another bonus is an elevator, which is not very common in the ancient square.
FYI (so you won't be surprised/ disappointed): Renovated from something else so it brings a feeling of lack of safety and the materials look a bit old and odd. Also, because it was like an assemblage of pieces so the door is like a pallet that has a peepholes around, so it's definitely not a great place for couples who want to enjoy "the other things". No drinking water provided. No housekeeping even cleaning even if you stay more than one night. If you ask, they will say because it's a literally cheap type of accommodation. A few things in the bathroom might be broken but they will send somebody to fix immediately, but not the door whose...
