I visited Ha Noi with my elderly father, and the staff were very accomodating and sweet, always opening the door for us, and helping us bring our luggage up/down the staircase. They gave us a welcome drink and fruit, while Thắm one of the receptionists helped check us in cheerfully. A+ Smile.
Thắm was extremely helpful and upon getting us checked in, the coolest thing was she gave us a list of popular restaurants that she recommended in the area within walking distance, suggestions on what tourist attractions to go to, and her Zalo contact if we had any questions. I've never received that from a hotel before, so I thought that was a very nice unique touch, I'm a huge foodie, and having that list gave me a great starting point to eating my way through the district.
The hotel itself was very clean, and our rooms were cleaned daily. Each room has a thermostat, and the sheets/bed/pillows reminded me of home (the U.S.) way better than some of the beds I've encountered in HCM. Laundry was an affordable $2 USD per kilo, which I used twice throughout my visit, which was very convenient!
The breakfast is decent and was included in the room charge, I really enjoyed the free juices for breakfast, and the omelette.
The elevator wait time was actually really good, I never felt like I had to wait a long time, and staff would some time event take the stairs so that we wouldn't have to wait/delay. I thought that was very thoughtful of them as well.
Also, It can get loud and very busy on Saturday/Sunday when they close off the streets for people to walk around, theirs live music, street vendors, and a ton of people, which may not be ideal if you are a super early sleeper.
Overall a fantastic stay located right in the heart of walking market. This was probably the most pleasant customer service oriented experience ive encountered in Vietnam, a country where customer service is sometimes...
Read moreUnfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel. Although we booked directly with the hotel, paid a deposit, and received an email confirmation from the hotel stating that our deposit was received and our room was reserved, the hotel had an internal miscommunication and had not recorded our reservation. So when we showed up, they did not have the room we had reserved. To their credit, they were able to put us in a lesser room at a lower rate and they gave us a free ride to the airport for our trouble. But when we tried to set up the ride on the next day, the staff at the front desk tried to charge us because they had not been informed of the deal for the free airport taxi that the previous receptionist had made with us. It took some time but we did ultimately get the free car ride.
After we checked in, we requested an extra towel and pillow but when they hadn't come hours later, we had to ask again.
Another strange occurrence: a sign in the elevator advertised happy hour in the restaurant but when we asked about it we were told that it had ended in December. We were there in March. When we left, the sign in the elevator was still up.
Breakfast was mid-range compared to others we've had in Vietnam.
The staff was friendly and polite and they tried to be helpful. But there seems to be some trouble with management, communication, and coordination. The room was clean but the failure to correctly reserve our room, trying to charge us for the taxi after saying it would be free, and the fake happy hour all added a level of stress and disappointment to our time...
Read moreExcellent hotel with a fabulous staff and a great breakfast. Located at the heart of old Quarter and walking distance to all the important landmarks and tons of shops and restaurants. Alex at the front desk was extremely nice and friendly. The others were too. He showed us how to get to the landmarks and was very attentive. Always welcomed us with a big smile and inquired how our stay was. I stayed for 3 nights. The morning breakfast was great. I am a vegan and they had a separate menu which was nice. The best thing was how close this place to all the landmarks. Beer street was a few minutes away. This area was loud and a happening area, but the hotel was in a more quieter area.
I would also like to mention how honest Alex and the staff is. I had used the lockbox and kept some valuable but when I left for the airport I have forgotten to take some money that was kept in there. It was a considerable amount of US dollars. While I was at the airport Alex called me on wattsapp and mentioned I had left the money behind. He quickly arranged a car to deliver the money to the airport. With the Hanoi traffic it took more than 30 minutes for the driver to get to the airport. I was getting a bit ready and it was cutting close to my departure time. I got my money and the quick action from Alex saved the day. If not it would have been a very expensive Hanoi vacation. Thank you Alex for your honesty and quick action to get the money back to me. Note to Management: give Alex a good salary raise. He is a great asset...
