For our last night in Hanoi, we decided on Bun Cha at Bun Cha Ta Hanoi, but was sorely disappointed. After a couple of hours' walk, we Googled for Bo Kho (Vietnamese Beef Stew), and the street side eatery Long Vi Dung showed up.
After arriving at Long Vi Dung, it turned out that Bo Kho was actually a beef jerky salad made up of beef jerky, sliced beef, long shreds of papaya, chopped peanuts and a bunch of herbs. Turned out to be quite delicious. 😋
Seated on low kid's plastic chairs, with a makeshift table at knee height, all right next to a busy street with scooters and cars hurtling by, we went on to order 3 more items: the Crystal Dumplings (no idea what's in the stuffing, but chewy to the bite), a couple of grilled quails (with salt, pepper and lime condiment), and a handful of deep fried fermented pork nuggets. Again, everything turned out delicious. 😋😋
The waiters spoke good enough English, and we all got along quite well... 😁😉
As midnight drew close, more and more locals started pouring in, which is testament to the good simple food served at this eatery.
When next in Hanoi, and if I stay close by again, I'd definitely drop by Long Vi Dung...

Food was nice, the rolls are not good but the others (like Nom Bo and Nem Chua Ran) are delicious. We spent 200k on 2 people. The atmostphere was very marketed with people standing in the middle of the street to wave you in.
One group of Hanoian sat front of us and pushed the tray it almost felt to the floor. The space was really really small because they tried to pack a lot of seats in. 2 opposite stalls on the same street but they came from the same brand and had...
