First room was OK. Some people at the reception were polite. Basic breakfast but not enough space for people to have it. People call this hotel new. It is not. It has been repainted and some items were fixed or changed. The aircons are very old and so is the smell in some rooms.
Honestly, I don’t know where the good reviews come from. That’s what lured us to book it. Big mistake! We booked a Delux double room. Our first night was OK but the next day typhoon Yagi made its way to Hanoi. The wind was making it hard to sleep. We asked to be moved to another room. They had only a Delux twin room available. At night, no cold water at all. We called someone and when he came, the water was back. The pressure was too weak but we didn’t want to waste time on talks and moving so we stayed. We booked initially for 2 nights but we had to stay one more night in Hanoi so we decided to extend our stay. Our last night was a nightmare. No water at all! Hot or cold. One of us went downstairs to tell the reception and their reply was that it was caused by the typhoon! Hilarious. So all the other rooms had water, they had it downstairs and at all cafes and restaurants in Hanoi. Only our poor room was deliberately attacked by the typhoon… Saying that knowing perfectly that we had issues with the water even before that. Needless to say that my friend was ignored like a little school girl. They promised to come in 5 minutes and never did. This led me to go downstairs and solve the problem the only way that works with these people. We were given another key to take a shower and the reception guy was “offended”. We couldn’t flush our toilet or wash hands and Mr. was offended that we got angry because of them ignoring our problem. Too much emotional energy wasted along with the money that we paid for it. Shame on...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this place by sheer luck when we arrived in town early and needed a spot to leave our bags. The staff was incredibly accommodating, allowing us to store our luggage and even offering an early check-in at no extra cost since there was a room available. This was a lifesaver after our long night of travel.
The service here is top-notch, with staff always ready to assist with anything you need. The entire facility is immaculately clean, from the well-maintained rooms to the spotless bathrooms, which are equipped with everything you need, including fresh towels and complimentary water. The AC works perfectly, ensuring a comfortable stay.
The breakfast was another pleasant surprise. Though it’s complimentary, the spread is impressive, offering a variety of fresh fruits, and Western dishes, and even allowing you to order additional items. It truly rivals the breakfast offerings at many high-end hotels.
Located in the old quarter, the hostel is centrally positioned, making it easy to explore the city. While the area can be a bit noisy, the convenience of the location more than makes up for it.
What stood out most was the staff's dedication to cleanliness and guest satisfaction. They take pride in keeping the place spotless and are always available to help. Special shoutout to the front desk team, especially Linh and the gentleman with glasses, who were both incredibly friendly and spoke excellent English, making communication a breeze. Linh was particularly attentive throughout our stay, and we are very grateful for her kindness. We can't wait to come back next time...
Read moreI usually don’t write negative reviews, and there’s nothing terribly wrong with this hostel—it’s just that I felt some things weren’t well thought out. For example, the dorm we stayed in had one bathroom (toilet and shower) shared by the entire room, which is fine and common in other hostels. However, there wasn’t a proper door separating the sleeping area from the bathroom. This means you could hear and smell everything when someone was using the toilet, which wasn’t great.
Additionally, the lock on the shower didn’t work, which made it uncomfortable for everyone—especially in an 8-bed mixed dorm. The lockers in our room also didn’t work, which was inconvenient. I politely mentioned the shower issue to the reception three times, but nothing was ever done about it.
The whole place seems a little disorganised. For example, they advertise that breakfast starts at 6:30 a.m., but on our last day, we went down at 6:30, and it didn’t really start until 6:50. Another frustrating experience was with laundry: I asked if I could give them my laundry, but they told me that due to Tet, their laundry service was closed until February 1st and couldn’t help with alternative suggestions. Then the next morning (January 31st), I saw two people dropping off their laundry with no problem.
On a positive note, the breakfast was very good! However, I find it strange that a hostel promoting itself as a “party hostel” ends breakfast at 9 a.m.—it doesn’t seem to fit the vibe...
