After checking out and while on the way to the airport, I realized that I had accidentally left my personal belongings (a pair of shoes) inside my hotel room. I immediately contacted the hotel to inform them and request assistance.
However, the hotel staff responded in a rude and unprofessional manner. Instead of helping, they questioned me by saying, “How can we believe you?” This response is unacceptable and shows a lack of respect toward guests.
I specifically asked the hotel to check the CCTV cameras in the corridor from the time I checked out so they could verify what I was wearing and confirm that I did not leave with the missing item. This is a very basic and reasonable request.
Shockingly, the hotel claimed that there is no CCTV at all, not even in the hallway. If this is true, it shows a serious failure in their duty to ensure guest safety and property protection. All professional hotels are required to have CCTV in public areas such as corridors and lobby floors.
Since the hotel could not provide CCTV footage, any records, or any helpful cooperation, they have no evidence to deny the possibility that the item may have been taken after I checked out. Their refusal to assist and their dismissive attitude make the situation even more concerning. I asked them to refund it they still deny it.
This unprofessional conduct damages the reputation of Vietnam’s tourism industry and puts future guests at risk.
I respectfully request that your office investigate this hotel’s behavior, security standards, and handling of...
Read moreWe arrived late at night only to be told that our rooms were suddenly unavailable because the previous guests had bedbugs. Instead of taking responsibility and canceling the reservation properly through Booking, the hotel staff tried to pressure us into canceling it ourselves—even though the policy clearly stated that cancellations are non-refundable. Their excuse was that this was the “only way” we would get our money back.
Naturally, we refused. That’s when they first tried to put both couples into the same room before eventually relocating us to another hotel with “equivalent” rooms—which turned out to be a clear downgrade.
The most frustrating part is that all of this could have been avoided if they had simply messaged us earlier to let us know that the rooms were unavailable. Instead, we were left stranded in the middle of the night with no other options around.
To top it off, they claimed they couldn’t reach us in advance because “they can’t send messages through Booking” (a complete lie). After all the other excuses, this one really took the cake.
In the end, it felt like they assumed we were naïve enough to believe their stories. Be warned—this hotel is not...
Read moreWe came in late in the night to find out that the rooms are unavailable for some weird reason. Instead of taking responsibility and canceling the reservation on booking they tried to lie to us that we should cancel from our side (which clearly stated in booking that there is no refunds for cancellation) and that’s the only way that we will get the money back.
Of course we refused, so they found out a different hotel with equivalent rooms (which was “surprisingly” a downgrade) but not before they tried to put us in the same room!! (We are 2 couples)
After all this drama in the middle of the night and there no other available options around to choose from, We tried to explain that the biggest reason that we are mad is because they didn’t bother to send a message earlier that the rooms are unavailable…
Of course even after all the other lies we were told, the one that was the best of them is that they couldn’t reach us through booking or other contact information beforehand (BS) because they can’t message through booking….
I guess they thought we are stupid or...
