We stayed at La Ava for 3 days 2 nights. We arrived early than expected but the host told her Mom that we can enter our room straightaway. There was no lift in the building and our room was on the 4th floor. We had to climbed a typical Hanoi buildings' narrow wooden stairs. The room was very clean and spacious. We had a big wooden window too.. but we never opened it. Bathroom is old-looking but clean and not smelly. The in-room facilities were well equiped down to hairdryer, fridge, coffeemaker, toilettries and towels. Wifi is strong eventhough it was off once. The hot water was on at the first night only. Breakfast on the rooftop was nice: buttered omelette, toast, tea/coffee, and fresh mangoes. Overall we like the place but we didn't really enjoy it that much because of the noise of the construction building in front of our room. It was up until 3am and maybe more! Not the host's fault though. Hopefully it will...
Read moreOur stay at La Ava's has been nothing but delightful. It is very clean and elegantly decorated while maintaining a lovely atmosphere of a family home. Khuyen and her family have been hospitable and very kind to us, with lots of great food recommendations while also cooking us some wonderful food themselves for our breakfast each morning, and also for dinner one evening on the rooftop terrace. The bedroom we stayed in was booked very last minute as another booking was abandoned, however we are so glad to have found La Ava's, and extended our stay by 3 nights as we enjoyed it very much. Our toiletries were restocked daily and our towels and bedding changed. We have absolutely loved our stay here and would recommend this place to anyone wanting to...
Read moreWe booked a room here for our March trip almost 2 months ago, and now, literally just 6 days before our stay period, the host asked us to cancel our booking. This is extremely unprofessional on their part as it is too late for us to get other good places at a reasonable price. To make things worse, this host shared the phone number of my friend (who booked the place via Booking.com) with another homestay business. This other homestay host proceeded to message my friend on WhatsApp, telling her they came to know our stay got canceled, would we like to book their place instead. I don't even know if this is some sort of deal made between these two homestay places. Anyway, very unethical and...
