My wife and I stayed at The Odyssey for 7 nights recently and were extremely impressed. From the moment we checked in the staff were absolutely brilliant. Over a lot of years of coming to Vietnam, we have found the Vietnamese people to be very welcoming and happy, but those at The Odyssey raised the bar to another level. The location is on a largish river island, which is about 15 minutes walk from the Old Town of Hoi An. So maybe a little isolated. But theres some nice restaurants on the boardwalk by the river, which is great at night to watch the well lit little boats cruising along with tourists on board while you eat and enjoy a cold beer or wine. And a fabulous laundry a few minutes up the road thats the best we've found in all our years of traveling in Vietnam. Our room was a beautiful big room with a king bed, couch, chairs and coffee table, and balcony overlooking the pool and fields opposite. So very peaceful. The tv in the room was a decent size with a good selection of cable stations. Theres a separate bathroom which is a welcome change from the all to often found open ones with a roll down blind to offer a tiny bit of privacy. Breakfast is pretty good, with a decent selection of foods for all cultures, which is all very fresh and well prepared. In fact the meals available in the restaurant all day are great and not overly expensive. The pool, which is right next to the dining area is excellent. Its over 2m at the deep end and a comfortable depth for pretty much anyone at the shallow end. The pool water was properly balance, so no need for goggles. This brings me to the staff at the hotel, in particular Lisa in the restaurant/bar area is brilliant, she speaks good English and is eager to learn more. Anh at reception also deserves a mention for her attentiveness and friendly nature. Then theres Jessie, who is like a roving customer service representative. She is so friendly and helpful for anything you need or want to know. My son and our grandkids [3yrs & 6yrs] stayed here for a few days during our stay, and Jessie made little crocheted stuffed rabbits for each of them with their initials on them. Such a beautiful caring person. She's a real asset to the hotel. Would I recommend this hotel? Absolutely yes I would. If you're not interested in the beach and want a peaceful relaxing place to stay, this gets 5 stars from me....

We recently spent 5 nights at Hoi An Odyssey Hotel as a family of four (2 adults, 2 kids), and we truly could not have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptional—genuinely warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive in every aspect, from reception to housekeeping to the restaurant team.
The hotel itself is a charming boutique hideaway, nestled just far enough from the hustle and bustle of the Old Town to feel peaceful, yet still within walking or biking distance to all the sights. It was the perfect balance of tranquility and convenience.
One small but memorable touch: on our first morning, the coffee at breakfast was perfect—strong and rich, just how we like it. The next day, it wasn’t quite as strong, so we casually mentioned it to the staff. To our surprise and delight, they not only took note immediately but checked in with us each morning afterwards to make sure the coffee was just right. That level of attentiveness really stood out and meant a lot.
The rooms were spotless and cozy, the pool was a hit with the kids, and the entire hotel had a warm, personal atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Every team member made an effort to ensure we had a wonderful stay, and they truly went above and beyond.

Read moreOutstanding hotel with excellent service! We stayed 5 night's in the Odyssey hotel, had not one thing to complain about. The hotel it itself seems relatively new the rooms are nicely decorated with an open shower area and quite big balcony with a nice View over the river. Rooms were sparkling clean! The whole hotel is well maintained nothing in the whole hotel makes the the impression as not somebody is taking care of even the smallest detail. Breakfast had more than enough of choices, there is everything you can ask for. The pool area has a layout like a small garden, beautiful place to relax. The location of the hotel made us first thought as to far from the city center. But it's perfect as you can get free bicycles on the hotel and need only 5 minutes to the center of town. The hotel is located on a peninsula, on the Southside of the river. We were lucky to had the hotel a bit of the center of town as Hoi An is a tourist hotspot and is very crowded. The place is quiet and relaxing. Even nearby in walking distance are some small bars and restaurants, on the peninsula, if you want to avoid the crowded city center for a day. If you choose the hotel restaurant you may be prepared to pay close to a third more than in town. Depends on what style of food you choose. But the food is excellent and Worth to pay for. Prices for drinks and cocktails in the pool area are not overpriced and the bar is always happy to meet your...
