Lion King Hotel — Hotel in Hội An

Lion King had great reviews, however as it had only recently opened in April this year it didn’t have such an enormous amount of reviews that we could be certain about it’s quality. However, every review we read advocated just how brilliant the place was. Naturally when something has reviews of that calibre it’s hard to live up to. But I can confirm exactly just how brilliant the place is.

I’ve only ever felt inclined to write 3 reviews for accomodation I’ve stayed in, each time in cases where the accomodation has been that exceptional and this is now my third time doing so.

Never have I received such great service from such beautiful people, the owners Mrs Flower and her husband Robert, from their lovely nature, surprising us unexpectedly with Banh Mis in the morning from the famous Madame Khanh, to organising tailor made clothes for me (in a very particular style that I couldn’t find in the numerous tailors I visited, bearing in mind I bought clothes from the famous Bebe tailor and visited various others who couldn’t do the style I was looking for).

Mrs Flower and Robert also booked our tour to Ha Long Bay on our request, provided brilliant recommendations for restaurants, bars and activities in Hoi an and made us feel more welcome than any other place I’ve stayed in my life.

Beyond the incredible service that went beyond the call of duty, the hotel itself was fantastic. The pool was stunning, the room so charming and comfortable, the location fantastic (right next to the old town). The place was just great. I would have paid 3 times the price of what we paid and felt that would have still been a good deal.Never have I received better value for money!

Few things in life can be measured accurately without a yardstick and I’ll use Vinpearl Hue, the 5 star hotel that we just stayed at as that yardstick. Lion King Hoi An was superior!

Mrs Flower and Robert you deserve and ultimately will have a business that becomes incredibly successful and renowned! For anyone tossing up where to stay in Hoi An then look no further than Lion King.

It's the start of 2024 and one of my earliest thoughts was about my experience at Lion King in Hoi An, Vietnam, at the end of May in 2023 with my parents, aunts, and uncle. Lion King provided me with the best moment-by-moment service I have been treated to while traveling. Flower and Robert are welcoming from the start, engaging as far as you would like, and helpful no matter the level of complexity of the errand or task you're looking to complete. They are also well connected and respected by the shops and services in the area.

The room I stayed in was perfect for me - 1 person. My aunts stayed in a room for 2 and my parents stayed in a larger room with a balcony and a tub. The location was very easy to arrive to and was conveniently located to walk throughout the city and easy to find upon return. This was my second trip to Hoi An so I was able to treat this visit more casually and slowly, so exploring the city on foot, shopping (arranging delivery), going to restaurants (including a banh mi spree with recos from Flower and Robert), going to spas (telling them Flower sent me) all worked well. It was hot while we were there so upon returning a shower in the room (I remember liking the lotion pack) and time in the pool and lounging beside it was also very refreshing before heading out to dinner.

Flower and Robert took on the challenge of owning and running this wonderful place throughout the pandemic and continuing on. I'm glad they did and that I could benefit from their decision by staying at Lion King. I look forward to returning and to bringing my friends or recommending that they stay there when they travel. Me and my girlfriend have travelled north to south through Vietnam. Hoi an is our second last stop and my partner booked at Lion King hotel.

We literally checked in today at 2pm and it’s already a 5 star service. Again I repeat. We literally just checked in a few hours ago.

Here’s why:

They owners treated me and my girlfriend like house guests and the hospitality was superior from the moment we arrived.

Flower wasted no time welcoming us into their beautiful newly renovated hotel and guided us through the “must see’s” in Hoi An along with food recommendations.

The best part for me was that Flower (1 of 2 owners) recognized my partners health was not 100%. She inquired, she listened and even recommended some remedies. She even came to our door with some Lemon tea and her continued support is so heart warming.

I already know the service will continue amaze us both for our next few nights which is why I am jumping the gun and writing this review.

We’ve stayed at quite a few hotels since arriving to Vietnam. We are travelling for a month and this is by far the best hospitality and service we have received. Flower and Robert are amazing. Highly recommend.

Update: today was check out and still hands down the best stay we have had on our month long vacation. Flower and Robert will literally treat you like family. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Hoi An.
