What a nightmare|13 days prior to my stay I booked a room for 2 nights with window via Agoda. The room was called "Valcony room" which was confirmed. One day prior to our arrival I received a new confirmation per email and the room was now called "Superior Double or Twin Room (Without Window & view)". I purposely booked a room with window which was more expensive and now short before I get there, everything is changed. I contacted the hotel and Agoda and both told me that this is what I booked in the first place. Agoda's initial confirmation only stated "Valcony room" and on none of their confirmation documents, were any details regarding "Valcony room" to be found. At this time this room category was no longer on Agoda. Agoda's response was: do you have a screen shot of what the "Valcony room" offers, no I did not, I was not aware that something like this was necessary. I asked them to send me a screen shot of room category called Valcony room, but they did not do this.|Arriving at the hotel the manager told me that the price I had booked the room for, only ever offers a room without window in his hotel, but I 100% took the more expensive room because I specifically wanted a window. The owner ended up upgrading me to the family room with window which usually costs double the price which I was paying. the night before arriving at the hotel I was up all night initially contacting the hotel and writing back and forth with Agoda customer service... I don't know anyone who would like this mess during their vacation. Yes the hotel and room was clean. The breakfast was not more than mediocre and although they are called Pho hotel and had a sign for soup they did not offer any. Read moreWe had a very pleasant stay at the Ving Hung Library Hotel. From the first moment we stepped through the door until we had to say goodbye, the staff was lovely and really helpful. They assisted with directions, tours and even opened the breakfast buffet 15 minutes earlier for us as we had a tour starting at 7 a.m. and would not have made the regular opening hours. All this very patently and with a warm, genuine smile. It was a bit unusual though that there was no breakfast room. Instead, breakfast was served in the lobby aka library. Other than in a regular kitchen an extractor or any other vent was missing at the egg station. So the whole room (and us) smelled of fried eggs afterwards. Also in regards to a cosier atmosphere we would have preferred a seperate breakfast room. Apart from that we liked the hotel's design very much. We enjoyed the library theme and 'vintage-natural' style very much. The hotel and our room were beautifully designed and set up with so much attention to the detail. The breakfast was very tasty and offered a broad choice of options. During our travel across Vietnam we stayed at 7 different accomodations.
