Harmony Old Town Hostel & Pool Bar — Hotel in Hội An

It’s a really good hostel but there are some points that need to be considered if you are looking for calm and quiet hostel : it’s a party hostel and the majority guests are young people ( it’s means : they don’t care about cleaning , politeness and respect others at all - they do noise , they let all their luggage’s, clothes and shoes in the middle of the room etc ) . I didn’t know it was party hostel when I did my reservation : if you like cleanness place and quiet place this is not the right place for you. Also not place for couples and family ( as long as you take private room and don’t care about be surrounded with teenagers ) . While I was staying there some nights and days were changed because I could not sleep ( hostel offer parties and free drinks and pub crawl - so we have inside the rooms some drunks and loud peoples after 1:00 am 😅 not hostel faults , guests fault . They think they can do whatever they want . some guests they were having whisky ( inside the room ) so …. No respect at all.

Disadvantages *advantages: - people ( guests and staffs ) entry in the room to see the room around 2:20 am ( made noise /With lights on- ( when I arrived in the hostel it was morning ,I asked to see the room they said no , because people were sleeping , but 2:00 am it’s ok ? They allowed check in the middle of the night. This is a negative point in my opinion . Disturbing guests in the middle of the night .

10 and 8 dorm - ( shoes off should be a MUST DO - there are dirty shoes in everywhere inside the room , also the hostel should provide cleaning 2 times per day ( they provide in the morning ) but At night the floor is really dirty . Because people don’t put shoes off , There are shoes and luggage’s in everywhere , we can’t not even walk inside the room .

Another point, hostel could request to guests don’t eat inside the room ( Many people and small room don’t combine) .

beds they don’t have curtain , so no privacy.

too many young people - it means : drunk people , noisy , unpolite teenagers / backpackers . It’s not a quiet hostel at all . People at 3:00 am - walking , talking and nobody from the hostel control it . Unfortunately teenagers and some backpackers they have no education , hostel should put some rules about it , even being party hostel

once staffs finished their work at night time toilets and Rooms are super dirty , this hostel it’s so huge , there are many guests - they should provide someone to clean the rooms at night and toilets . And maybe one security to walking around the hostel and forbidden party inside the rooms at 2:00 am. It was happening . And I saw some female Guest complaining about it too.

they don’t provide shampoo , always empty .

Advantages:

its a clean hostel , but its so huge and sometimes looks messy ( teenagers are so messy 😅 )reason why they should provide more staffs . We can see staffs effort but doesn’t long last …

really good breakfast ( it’s a buffet , they provide lot of options ) ,

staffs are kind and lovely ( housekeeper and cleaners they work hard ) , but hostel should provide more help and keep the hostel more clean ( toilets and dorm )

good location near old told / pubs / restaurants easy to find food , banks . Far from the beach ( walking 1 hour - bike 15 minutes ) easy to Get there with bike , scooter etc ,

bed are comfortable and sheets clean( but there is no curtain) ,

they provide towel ,

they have locker underneath the bed( big one ) wich is really good ,

you can rent bike 🚲/ moto with them, ( I didn’t asked outside the hostel how much is the bike but they rent per 35 dong ),

they have drinking fountain so , free water is always good ,

there is a indoor swimming pool ,

we can leave our luggage’s in the hostel after check out , also have shower ( this is a super advantage ) ,

Hostel is good but they really should implement some rules .and avoid shoes and dirty inside the rooms to...

I went to this hostel as part of my travels through Vietnam with my 2 friends and this hostel is okay.

Rooms: don’t have curtains and the mattress is quite tough. The showers are fine however in the bathroom there was never much soap and there was no where to put your shower things when you were in , so they were left on the floor where there were little bugs. Great storage in the room , right under the bed where you could lock your belongings away.

Service : compared to other hostels this hostel doesn’t encourage a very social experience. Yes there is a pub crawl in twice a week but other than that there’s nothing else on. They also switch off the lights at 10pm. if you’re looking for a god time I don’t recommend this place. there is a free walking tour however it’s 10 minutes long and the people doing the walking tour are volunteers who’ve been in Hoi an for 3 days . Staff are grand but not very friendly . The breakfast was good and your omelette was made right infront of you which I quite liked .

Location: great location , about 6 minutes walk from the old town and fairly close to the bus depo.

Overall: I wouldn’t stay here again however for the price you’re...
