We had the worst experience in this hotel
We don’t know how this hotel is categorized as a 4 star hotel.
we purposely booked 1 room night with mountain view because of the funicular. We contacted the hotel regarding our arrival. And sent a photo letting them know why we booked this room. We booked our 2nd room night with garden view. The sole purpose of the mountain view is only because of the funicular nothing else. But when we arrived at the hotel, we were given a different room which is facing the restaurant. It wasn’t even a garden view but a view of the roof in the restaurant. Unfortunately, The mountain view room was not available!!! I was so disappointed and even cried out of disappointment. We have explained to them why we booked to their hotel but the person we were talking to was really rude! He kept arguing with us saying that we didn’t pay for that view because we only booked standard room. Then why not informed us ahead of time? We could have cancelled our reservation rightaway! I communicated through whatsapp. We had conversation. I sent them a photo. My message was seen and there’s no reply telling us they couldn’t give us the room. Why you didn’t told us before we arrived? Yes, it was a standard room with mountain view. The funicular is only passing through the mountain view. There’s no other way. This isn’t about what we paid for but the excitement that made our stay full of disappointment! There’s nobody when we arrived. We have to keep calling them. Before our arrival, we have informed them that we’re arriving early morning because we’re on a sleeper bus that usually arrives 5am. This is a 4star hotel that doesn’t have a 24hrs front desk. You cannot rely on any help from this property because everyone is gone at night. If you need help late at night you will have to help yourself. The restaurant is closed where a little desk of reception is located. They don’t have a proper reception! Everyone is sleeping at night! The person who met us just got up from his sleep and did not even wash his face. What is this a sort of homestay or apartment? Noting that you’re paying at the cost of a 4 star hotel! The contact person is very rude that shouldn’t be in this industry(booking.com). Zero customer service. This is the first time we’ve ever encountered such an ill mannered hotelier. No manners at all! So be careful when you book here because your complaints will never be resolved instead will create trouble and will keep fighting. The nerve of telling us to cancel our booking and find another hotel at 5am! Imagine the stress we had during our arrival! It was a nightmare! Flying all the way from Dubai and this is what we get! Seriously! Staff zero english. You have to keep on translating everything. Working on hospitality, staff should atleast speak basic English. Not fluent but atleast basic english. Water heater tank is small. So during winter, you should take shower quickly before you run out of hot water. You will have to wait another 15-20mins to make the water hot again. Breakfast is the same everyday. They just shuffle it from their arrangements. Do not expect breakfast to be grand. Not a 4 star hotel standard. Not disabled people friendly. Going inside the property is too steep that would cause accidents. No ramps for wheel chairs. The property is full of stairs. Overall we will not recommend this hotel. We had the worst stay in this hotel. It ruined our arrival in Sa Pa. We trust that our arrival is smooth since we communicated with them before we arrived and expected that they would understand the reason why we chose this hotel but instead disappointed us alot. Although the GM reached out to us but the way we were treated we couldn’t take it. I don’t think we deserve the treatment we experienced. We’re a family of 3. Let’s talk about the food, or whatever excuse for food this place serves. We ordered pork skewers — sounds simple enough, right? Wrong. The meat was so dry, rubbery, and overcooked that every single person at our table chewed once and spit it out. Not a single bite was swallowed. Completely inedible.
Then came the Hawaiian pizza — or should I say, pineapple-less pizza. We were told it was a “new version.” What kind of clown thinks a Hawaiian pizza without pineapple is acceptable? We returned it. After a painfully long wait, they brought it back with some sad canned pineapple tossed on top like they just realized they messed up. Didn’t help — still tasted like a cheap frozen pizza you’d regret even during a hangover.
Ordered grilled salmon — looked fine outside, but cut into it? Raw. Completely uncooked inside. Sent it back to be re-grilled. That’s basic kitchen 101. They failed.
Tried to play it safe with salad. Big mistake again. The vegetables were wilted, soggy, and clearly days old. An actual insult to the word “fresh.” The only halfway decent thing we ate? French fries. Yup. Just fries. That’s what this place is proud of, apparently.
Now the service — absolutely disgraceful. We asked for a Coke — literally a canned drink — and it took 15+ minutes to get to us. Had to remind the staff, who acted like we were being difficult, then slow-walked it over like they were underwater. One of our orders was completely forgotten. No apology, no rush to fix it. They looked like they didn’t care one bit.
The atmosphere? Imagine a school cafeteria during a fire drill. Loud, chaotic, unbearable. People shouting across tables, no effort to control the noise, no sense of order. You won’t hear yourself think, let alone enjoy a meal.
