Nomadtrails Boutique Sapa — Hotel in Sa Pa Ward

Odd little place.

Cons: Property is tired; reno is slipshod. Dirtiest windows I’ve seen in my life! The room is gaudy; paint peeling, and has seen better days. Receptionist wanted to keep my passport on check in - no way that was going to happen. Most of the staff speak little to no English and communication was painful. Internet is sketchy at best. Room cleaning = water and amenities refill. Bed unmade, floor uncleaned. Toilet bowl had gross pee streak marks leftover from the previous occupant.

The cherry on top: every morning 6am the door banging and yelling starts. On weekends the noise is worse as the Vietnamese tour groups gather at 7am.

You won’t get any sleep here.

Pros: Great location, smack in the middle of town. Cheap and quick laundry, although we received a bonus tshirt and sock. - if you stayed here and are looking for a tshirt and sock, it’s at the reception. Receptionist has the most adorable puppy.

Nomadtrails Boutique Hotel was such a convenient place to stay in Sa Pa! It’s located really close to Sa Pa Station, which made it super easy for us to go on a Fansipan day trip without any hassle.

The receptionist (a kind man with bald hair—I forgot to ask his name) was so helpful. Even though he couldn’t speak English, he really put in the effort to communicate with us using a translator app. I truly appreciated his patience and effort! The room itself was lovely—clean, comfortable, and the best part for me personally was the heated mattress. It made such a difference in the cold weather (though I think many hotels in Sa Pa also have them).

They also allowed us to check in early, with a small additional fee. I can’t remember the exact amount, but it wasn’t expensive at all and was totally worth it, especially since waiting outside in the chilly weather wouldn’t have been fun. The interior decoration is luxury. Room has all basic facilities and they work well: air conditioner with heater mode, the bedsheet electric heater, good hot water in shower and face basin. The lift is fast. Water boiler. Toiletries. Instant coffee. 2 bottles of water. Hair drier. 2 pairs of plastic slipper. Staff is efficient and polite. We arrived almost midnight.
