We had the worst experience in this called „hotel“ ever!||As we arrived, we were completely ignored of the man at the reception who was maybe the owner of the hotel! After WE had to say „hello“ he seemed very bored to have new guests. He didn‘t give us any information about the hotel like e.g. check out time and so on! While we had to wait until the room was ready we tried to use the public toilet in the ground floor but decided to wait cause the toilet was terrible and unclean. As we wanted to smoke outside and in front of the hotel he invited us to have a cigarette inside and did light his own cigarette on the grubby couch! We rejected because we didn‘t want to support the smell of smoke inside! By the way: it smelled like a mix of toilet, dead animal and smoke everywhere all over the reception area, also in the „dining“ place!||After going to the room we were confused cause it looked quite different to the hotel pictures in the internet! On the first view, it was ok, but in detail the bathroom was just hosed by the shower hose. Everything was wet and the ground was covered with hair everywhere. We just kept our luggage and left the hotel to stay somewhere else cause it rained and we didn‘t feel comfortable and welcomed in this hotel. We went back after dinner and had to determine that we had no hot water for showering. Our second view in our bedsheet lead us to complain cause it was also covered with black hair and blood stains as well. It was obviously not changed. So we went to the reception where the owner and another guy lay on the sofa staring in their phone! As we talked to them they ignore us again and continued staring at the phone. After we became angry the owner sent the other guy with us to give us new sheets but arrived in our room, he didn‘t really know what to do cause he didn’t understand English! So I went down to the front office again and complained about the situation and that I‘m super upset cause he (the owner) is the only guy who speaks English and dont make any action to improve our satisfaction, say sorry or have a look at what was wrong! So I asked him for having a look in our room at his own. He started shouting at me and told me that I have to stop while coming closer and closer in towards me. I was scared and thought he just hit me! Luckily he didn‘t but definitely went into my comfort zone, what was frightening because I had to share the lift up to our room with him! He could not understand our point of view but told the staff to change the bed sheets. As we said that we don‘t want to pay that money for this service he threatened to call the police and left the room! It was midnight at this time and cause of this dispute and drouble it was not easy for us to find some sleep. We were more than happy to leave the hotel on the next morning. A simple „sorry for yesterday“ were his only words after checking out which could not repay this experience and our excitement! After this we got a email from booking.com that the manager told them that we were NOT staying at the hotel which is a lie obviously.||I really hope that nobody will ever experience that kind of disregard as a guest! This guy should not be allowed to host guests in the...
Read moreWe needed a place to stay in Sapa because our other reservation fell through. I chose this hotel after looking at one of the third party hotel booking sites. I was looking for a basic twin accommodation that was clean with WiFi. This one fit the bill. The price was resonable. When I walked in with my tour guide ,no less, the woman at the front desk tried to hike up the price. Because I looked at the hotel booking site I knew how much I could get the room for. I often refer to one of those sites and then show up sparing the business any service fees. I explained I knew how much the room was and she tried again. I finally got the price I wanted and my tour guide said oh she was giving me the price for a deluxe room. Ok that was after I told him we wanted a basic room. The room itself was decent. Flat screen TV, wifi, A/C, beds comfortable enough. It's a little off the main road which feels sketchy at night but we had no problems. The next morning it was super loud starting at 7. Checkout is at 10:30. The housekeeping was on our floor and talking so loudly it echoed through the hall and sounded more like screaming. We cancelled the second part of our tour because we have been exhausted backpacking for the last three weeks and we wanted to sleep in and spend the day around town. Well not at Mimosa Hotel. We were forced to get up at 7AM today. I couldn't believe it that I took video that I could share on this review. Unfortunately this site doesn't allow video footage All in all I don't recommend. There are plenty of places in the area with competable rates. Oh did I mention the condom wrapper in the nightstand drawer? It goes to show that they spend more time yapping and screaming in the hall than they do cleaning. I actually signed up for trip advisor just to write this review that's how much I am...
Read moreThis property is a family-run hotel, so guests should not expect the level of service typically found at chain hotels with dedicated departments.Location is a major advantage — the hotel is situated in the center of Sapa, within walking distance to SunWorld Fansipan Legend, making it convenient for sightseeing.Accommodation and Facilities: The facilities are basic and reflect the nature of a budget or mid-range guesthouse. Rooms are equipped with physical keys, and electricity is activated via a plastic key insert. Soundproofing is minimal, and room construction is modest, with noticeable gaps above doors and large interior windows that may affect privacy. The hotel lacks an intercom system and, assistance is provided by family members. Guests need to use their personal phones to contact the owners if support is needed.Dining: The breakfast offering is limited and home-cooked, as the hotel does not employ a professional chef. This may not meet the expectations of travelers looking for a more standardized hotel dining experience.Maintenance and Condition: Furniture and room amenities appear dated, with some fixtures squeaky or partially functional. While basic repairs are made, the overall maintenance standard could be improved to meet modern hospitality expectations.Overall: While the price is competitive for the location, guests should be aware that the experience is closer to a guesthouse or budget homestay than a professionally...
