This truly delish restaurant, besides it's great food galore,is situated on the street where each and every woman living on/selling things/running small businesses/restos ....is strikingly... beautiful 😍.if you happen to pass by Dong Loi street of Sapa s old quarter, then you might like to walk it all through from the uphill begingning till it's very end downhill. If you look on you right at the uphill beginning, you ll surely see( in the morning only) a striking meat seller that looks like a Gypsy from Cher 's old song. Then look on your left, just in front from the gypsy seller, there ll be a mini Mart shop where the lady owner is just equally stunning, then further down the street, there ll be a wooden stall with papaya salad and meats on display and..again one more beautiful lady selling them.Just beside her, on her left there ll be a vegetables seller which is also a beauty)).If you turn you back to these two ladies, you ll see The Little Sapa restaurant (one of the best on the whole Vietnam continent, believe me))The lady owner is one of the nicest hosts I came across in the country. And she s also very beautiful too,of course 😊
Замечательный ресторан: один из самых вкусных во Вьетнаме. Очень гостеприимные хозяева. Уютное помещение. Прихожу сюда всегда почти каждый день, когда...
Read moreCame here on a friend's recommendation, plus it had good reviews on Google. However, the food didn't really hit our expectations. We had the Sapa-style tofu which came in little tofu patties. While it was nicely fried and chunky, there was no sauce to go with it and we found it very dry after a few bites. The Sapa-style pork in hotplate was similarly very dry and unexpectedly tasteless. Pretty tough slices of meet with just a hint of a light soy sauce or fish sauce taste. We were very confused by these two dishes, like is this what Sapa-style food was like? The Spring roll was more palatable, with vege chunks wrapped in a crunchy spring roll skin, and paired well with the given pickles. Washed it down with a local sweet wine which was nice but small in portion.
A while into the dinner, we realised the restaurant was packed with foreign tourists. Also observed the lady manager arbitrarily getting customers to share a table without asking the couple who were already eating at a table -...
Read moreWe'd had a week of stir fry pork and chicken, so we thought that a tofu night was in order. Little Sapa was packed. Good sign... menu was varied and interesting. We chose grilled tofu on a hotplate, with egg, and fried tofu with lemongrass and chilli.
Great choices!!! The grilled tofu was sizzling, and the addition of egg (sort of omelette style) was unlike anything we've had in Vietnam. Ditto the fried tofu. It didn’t come out as cubes, as the tofu was crumbled into patties, with the lemongrass and chilli forming a crunchy outside. Seriously, it didn't taste like tofu!
Top marks for simplicity, originality and mouthfeel. And the beverages were totally on par with other modestly priced cafes, too. Oh, and the staff are delightful, too!! If you are in Sapa, please visit....
