Although David Jones Perth has a decent selection of relatively good quality department store brands - as a man it is overshadowed by the disarray and untidiness of the men's section. Lighting is bad, sections are poorly defined and Staff are completely disinterested if seen wandering around - and if not are impossible to find.
On my last visit, I went David Jones with the hopes of buying a decent quality wallet that would last me a long time - as my old wallet had deteriorated. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of turning up in my work uniform which is that of a retail outlet.
I was served by a gentleman in a grey suit with well kept hair and beard who looked about his mid-40s. He asked what I was looking for - and I told him that I was in the market for a good quality wallet that would last me a long time. He asked what my price range was and I replied that it didn't matter as I had saved enough money to buy something worthwhile and sturdy so I didn't have to replace it for a while. He then directed me to the cheapest wallets he had, saying so himself "these are the cheapest wallets we have" - all plastic by an off-brand manufacturer. I reminded him that I was looking for a good quality wallet that will last me a while and that money wasn't an issue as I had saved enough. He then directed me to their next cheapest wallets with "Well, these are one step up as they are leather but they're still very reasonably priced." I humored him even though they were off-brand and they turned out to be flimsy and poorly constructed. I reminded him one last time that I would like a good quality wallet that was well constructed and would last me a long time - to which he responded with "Okay well, these are the cheapest ones though." (the most expensive one there was around $98). I respectfully told him that I don't think he was listening to what I was asking of him and left the store.
I then went and bought a Coach Billfold. Significantly better service for a significantly...
Read moreCustomers of David Jones - BEWARE! If you order something on the online store and receive a "Order verification" E-mail requesting you to send details such as hashed out CC information and Identification details - DO NOT COMPLY! Be aware that ANY and ALL details sent via E-mail are by nature UNSECURE - sending these details across this medium is not a risk to your CC (which can be easily changed), but a risk to YOU as an individual. You cannot change your Full name, your DOB or your Address, or your passport details (if you wish to send these). I have spoken with DJ on a number of occasions about this, however I have come to believe they live in the 80s and think E-mail is perfectly fine - the world has moved on, hackers and phishers are cunning people. Don't do the equivalent of standing in a crowded train station yelling your personal details out across the crowd - yes, chances are, no-one will write it down...but if someone does, you can NEVER get that personal information back again. Regardless of the privacy policy DJ has, the issue is not necessarily how they store your personal information, but rather how your information get to them. Please be diligent...not just for DJ, but for anyone who requests such information. We ordered something last night, now I will probably have to waste another 2 hours of my time (like the last order) going into a DJ store to validate my details, and not be allowed to collect the goods while there either. PS. this review is not against the Perth DJ site, rather against the DJ online store policy - but I couldn't see where I could specifically write a public notice about this up there. I know this probably doesn't feel important, but it very much is...don't be fooled by this...
Read moreI had experienced extremely pathetic customer service by floor manager Jessica at David jones hay st. I went their to buy Emporio Armani Stronger with you gift set 100ml edt at hay street Perth store. I checked it online the only gift set was coming up at $140, but in store the price was $170. It was exactly the same product inside but they changed the box of the giftset and rose the price up. My first encounter was with counter manager She was an asian lady. I have shown her the online gift set and ask her to match the price first she started looking in her own phone to check and then she said I cannot price match to which I asked can I see her manager or supervisor to which she is the only counter manager and I have to come tomorrow to see the manager. Upon insisting she went to Jessica who was the floor manager and explain her the situation. The price was incorrect at online store but they were not willing to price match it. Jessica started her conversation that we cant do anything it is 50% david jones fault and 50% Armanis fault . I simply if mistake is of David jones why I had to pay the extra price for it to which she accused me of having a go at her and said she cant help me out she can only send my feedback to Armani. Her tone was quite disrespectful and discriminative. I am not going to David jones again. I was there customer but not anymore. They need to sort out their online and instore prices and also need to educate their managers about the...
