BE AWARE-FORM OF THEFT - Very disappointing experience at this Ristorante. We ordered 2 pasta meals. Carbonara was very nice, spinach and ricotta canelloni consisted of spinach and hardly any ricotta. Server appeared to be friendly. This changed. The most disappointing thing was when we asked for the bill - the server told us the price, processed the transaction and then gave me the printed receipt, and walked away. When I looked at the printed bill, he had charged us 3.50 Euro for a tip. He did not ask us if we wished to make a tip, he just charged it to my card without asking. I queried why he charged this to my card and he indicated that is the procedure. Tipping is not compulsory or mandatory in Austria; and so far in Salzburg we have been asked first if we wish to add a tip to our bill. Even asking a customer is not common practice. So I found this behaviour by the server to be very rude and unprofessional; and I feel that this is stealing from me when he did not ask my permission to add an extra charge to my credit card, by asking me if I wished to provide a tip. My husband told the server in front of the customers that charging us without our permission is not acceptable. He just shook his head and did not say anything. We had been conversing during our meal at the restaurant and so he spoke English. Management should be advised and ashamed of this behaviour with tourists who provide your income for your business. Charging a customer for a tip without their consent or knowledge is a form of theft, or more precisely, fraud. A tip is an optional payment for service, not a mandatory fee. I have tried to email management at the Ristorante with the email on their website, but it...

We came here April 2024 - we came in at around 7pm and they at first advised they only had pizza and nothing else so we said fine. We ordered a rose and lemonade and a vodka lemonade. The waiter said they did not have rose wine. So I ordered a sprite. They only had one sprite and my mother wanted a vodka lemonade so I substituted for what he said was homemade lemonade. Then the drinks came and my mum got the sprite with no vodka only to be told they had no vodka either. The lemonade was more like squash. For the food, when I ordered a pepperoni, they had no idea what I was asking for despite me pointing at it on the menu. When the pizza came, it was first given to the wrong table for over 5 minutes and then when it was given to us, the pizza was somehow both entirely dry and watery at the same time - I have no idea how. The pepperoni was not pepperoni but salami and chilli and burned my mouth off despite trying to pick the chilli off.

This was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant and possibly the most awkward night of my life. Will never...

First I would like to point out that the service was welcoming and was understanding enough to not include 2 of the ordered dishes in the bill due to their quality being low and having them unfortunately sent back. The dishes weren‘t served in the wished for order, but that was somehow acceptable. The two dishes to be sent back was first a Minestrone soup, which tastet just like black pepper. The second dish was a Pasta Carbonara. In the menu the right ingridients are proposed so you might think you‘ll get it right, but unfortunately the color when served was nearly grey, it tasted just oily and the eggs were partially scrambeled, so overcooked. The Pizza was alright, but also not...

Needed a bit of a pizza fix in Salzburg and this was close to our hotel. Great outdoor setting with seating available so we got a table. Service was prompt to begin with. However the wait between the starter and main was a little longer than anticipated. Probably almost 25 minutes. The table next to ours got theirs before us and had arrived after us. Once the pizzas did come out, there wasn't an apology for them being late. In general, the pizza is of a good size, maybe a little too large for a standard individual person so a lot were taking it away. The taste again is ok, but the base sauce didn't really say much. But if you're hungry and need pizza in this area, go for it!

Restaurant looks nice inside and outside. We arrived at 18:00 and our SALAD and flatbread did not come out until 19:00! The customers at the table next to us received cold and tasteless pizza. They complained. After eating our first course it took them another 25 min to bring our main dishes. 1 hour and 25min all for some fish and pasta is a crime. The salad dressing also had flies in it… won’t be coming back. Even our poor waitress seemed annoyed at the kitchen staff when we pointed out the flies to her. At least the dishes we ordered had some flavor to them.
