I was really disappointed with my visit to Café Glockenspiel. I ordered a Lillet Berry Spritz, pointing directly to the photo on the menu, which showed a light pink drink and where it is mentioned that it is with fresh berries. What I received instead was a dark red Lillet with frozen berries. At first, I assumed it was simply the wrong order. When I asked the waiter, he told me the drink in the photo was alcohol-free, and that what I received was the “alcoholic version.” At no point did I mention alcohol or non-alcohol when ordering; I just asked for exactly what was in the photo. A few minutes later, another waiter came over, saying his colleague told him I had a problem with my drink. He gave me a completely different explanation: that “the color changes when you add berries.” To make it worse, he added, “if you don’t know German we can translate to you.”! As someone who orders Lillet Spritz often (it’s my favorite drink), I know how it’s supposed to look and I can certainly tell the difference between fresh and frozen berries. Between the misleading menu photo, the contradictory excuses, and the patronizing attitude, this was a very unpleasant experience.

Definitely not the quality or service I expected...

We had a great quick snack lunch sitting outside. It’s located in Mozartplatz so this area gets very busy and is a great place to people watch. Every table outside was taken so it was quite busy but we still had great service. Our waiter was very polite and funny, he really did a great job. The pricing was also very fair and we enjoyed everything that we ate and drank.

I started off with a large cappuccino and it was delicious. It was honestly so strong and really woke me up, especially since I downed it quickly. Then I order the Original Salzach Sausages for my first time ever and loved them. Maybe one of my favorite sausages I have ever had. They are crisp, a little spicy, and snap back when you bite into them. I already am searching for them in my hometown of Los Angeles. I would recommend to any visitor to Salzburg and would dine in again next time...

The cafe has good cakes but their juices are below average, really didn’t like the juice. But hey, you’re here for the view. You get the best view of Mozart Platz in the cafe, chairs are comfy and the place is clean. Staff took very long to come and take our order though. Also, they get your order really fast once you place one, which somewhat makes up for the time it took them to come and take our order.
