Career Options - Through the exercises completed through the initial coaching meeting, these confirmed the most appropriate areas for me to pursue work which matched my transferable skills and experience. Confidence - CareerJoy provided all the tools required to prepare for job interviews with all the confidence needed to be successful in obtaining a position. Without this, I wouldn't have been as successful as I was in being interviewed (I received interviews from 5 out of 47 companies to which I applied for positions, plus another 4 companies were interested in my application e.g. telephone interview for a total of 19%). This response from prospective employers exceeded my expectations! Job Search, Interview & Networking Skills - While I was in control of navigating my job search, I think more input could be provided by coaches in this area to provide additional support. I was provided with excellent support during the interview process, getting feedback on answers to anticipated questions prior to interviews. I think more support could be provided in the area of arranging brief 15-minute meetings prior to and following each interview as a check-in. Sense of Market Value - I think this is an idea that could be improved within the coaching program. While I was told to expect to be making less than in my previous position, perhaps a broad range could be provided by the coach as a guide to what the client can expect based on skills and experience. Control over the next steps of your career - I think that while CareerJoy provides invaluable assistance to help clients prepare for interviews, the rest (interviews, thank-you notes etc.) is up to the client. One area that could be discussed with clients is negotiations e.g. salary, vacation once a client is selected for a position.

I came to CareerJoy with the hope of discovering more about myself professionally and the career options open to me based on my professional experience and education. Through my sessions with my coach, I learned more about my skills, abilities, talents and what kind of work I would and would not like to do.

However, my experience with my career coach did not fully meet my expectations. Communication in between sessions was lacking on the part of my coach. Said coach either took a very long time to respond to my inquiries or did not respond to them at all. While the coach's justifications were acceptable, they were not communicated to me beforehand. Perhaps my overall experience would have been better had I been assigned a different coach. And seeing as their services required a great financial investment, I expected a lot better! I didn't even receive communication from the administrators regarding progress with my career coach.

Overall, I do recommend CareerJoy, however, I recommend that one have a basic awareness of their career goals. I also recommend doing further research into the coach you are assigned to before agreeing to...

Strongest recommendations to anyone looking for a career coach!! 1.5yrs ago I returned to Canada after 15years abroad and having had worked with only 1 company. I had forgotten how to apply for jobs, and had a limited network here. I started a search for a career coach and CareerJoy exceeded my expectations. When other companies & coaches were using their intro call to discuss how many hours they would offer, George Muenz simply started coaching! It was a no brainer to work together as he offered actual value from our first interaction. In the first steps, he guided me to a resume concept that I hadn’t seen before, helped put mine together & this helped me land a lot of interviews! Although I landed my first job 2 months later, George continued his support! He helped guiding me how to build a network, how to present my value, and how to negotiate offers.
