Onteaiken Patagonia — Local services in Puerto Natales

I had a very disappointing experience with Onteaiken Patagonia. Despite confirming my rental start date for Sunday, December 29, as you can see attached, they failed to mention that their office would be closed that day. This crucial detail, which was entirely their responsibility to communicate, was not shared with me. This left me in a tough spot when I arrived, as I had to leave for Torres del Paine before their next opening.

As a result, I had to scramble to find another rental last minute and ended up going with Rental Natales, who are open every day until 10 PM (something I wish I had known sooner!). While they saved the day, I had to forfeit my $50 deposit with Onteaiken Patagonia due to their lack of communication.

Travelers, be warned: double-check their office hours and don’t rely on them to share key information! Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone...

This is a review of our experience TRYING TO BOOK a tour with this company. Unfortunately, there was a serious lack of communication.

I contacted them for a Puma tracking tour. They sent a quote, and I asked them to go ahead and confirm the booking. Then radio silence. No confirmation whatsoever. I messaged them on their whatsapp number but did not get a reply. Because we had a day in town prior to our planned excursion, we then went to their office. The staff claimed no messages/email were received until we showed it to them. Staff then said they were so busy and could not attend to all the messages. Staff then replied to the whatsapp messaged at 4 PM that day that they are unable to accommodate a puna trek for the next day.

We booked a full day excursion to Torres Del Paine with this company. We had negative experiences with some of the 3rd party tour operators so we wanted to go straight to the provider. We were very happy with our choice! They picked us up at our apartment right on schedule and showed us a great day in the park. Simon, our guide was awesome and although the weather was disappointing, he made the day worthwhile. He was also willing to give us some suggestions if we decided to return to the park on another day on our own.. you really have to be flexible in Patagonia, the weather is impossible to predict and you can’t blame the operators when conditions...
