We decided to eat at this place following reading the reviews online.

We had not booked and after being stood there for only a minute we were asked if we could wait for a few minutes for a table, this didn't bother us as we had arrived at a peak time on a Saturday night.

We were soon ushered through to our table, this place is set downstairs in multiple little areas which have 4-6 tables with informal benches in each area. The waitress seemed very attentive without being in our faces even though she seemed rushed off her feet. Nothing seemed too much hassle.

We ordered our food, along with a Pilsner and a Slivovice. The food arrived in good time, I had pork with mushrooms and cheese and my partner had the pork with spiced apricot chutney, we both opted to have fries. Although the spiced chutney didn't seem to have any spice, the whole meal was lovely, tasted great and was very good value. For 3 Pilsner, a Slivovice, 2 cokes, 2 main courses with fries, the total came to less than CZK700.

We agreed we would come back to this place as it was good for a couple or family looking for some good food or group of friends looking for somewhere for the...

U Ferdinanda is a great restaurant in the city centre of Prague! We had 2 dinners there day after another and we loved it both times. Chicken meals are great, Pork meals are great and tasty. My friend even had moo moo cow meal and said it was delicious. Customer service is professional, customer friendly and very swift with their duties. Food is prepared tremendously and 1 portion will get you well fed. I think the prices are not high at all for the service you get and it's nice to tip if you are satisfied. One thing I noticed, many places include a tip in the bill after you are done. This place doesn't do it, so your bill will never be bigger because they automatically charged you for service fee without telling you. This is a big PLUS for this place! ;)

Definately worth recommending to whoever is in Prague and is looking for big...

Another (quite well) hidden gem in Malá Strana! (I almost didn't want to share this with you guys.. wanna keep it for myself)😋

🔹Don't expect velvet cushioned seats and royal manners. This is a pub! A classic, wooden-bench-sticky-table-simple-menu kind of pub. 🔹Friendly staff (for Czech standards, please don't get put off by seemingly cold manners)🙂 , quick and professional too! 🔹The Ferdinand beer is awesome - dark lager is my favourite. 🔹The food is excellent, authentic Czech cuisine of highest quality. Finally a place where horseradish tastes and smells fresh. 🔹Prices a in the norm, you will pay happily for the value proposed.

5 stars well deserved. Will be...

The food was great as were the service and the atmosphere. The beer was cold and smooth. The lady that served me was friendly and good humouredly patient with my attempts at ordering in Czech and the place itself was spacious with tables enough to accommodate large and small groups. There was plenty of good natured chatter and laughter going around. I ate pork with mango and pepper chutney and I would reccomend it. I should also mention that this place is dog friendly, there was a well behaved little pooch sat with the couple opposite me and no one gave it a second thought but to say hello to it when passing by.

Ridiculously big food portions for a little price!! 2kg pork knuckle with all the sides, bread and beer for less than 400 corons. Beer is very good, very cozy and quiet place, there are toilets for customers too. Tipping is not included in the price, and not even required which is very onest as most of the restaurants in prague tend to put tips in bills. It is a little bit far away from the centre about 15 min walk from charles bridge and might be hard to find as it's in a hidden entrance, the actual restaurant is underground and tends to be very warm inside because of the lack of ventilation
