The Shop 17 — Local services in Grasse

BUYER BEWARE!!!! Horrible tourist trap store. I shopped here during the Cannes Film Festival and bought an expensive garment at this upscale boutique. I asked the sales woman some questions about this designer and was she responded with outright lies. She told me this was a local French designer operating out of St. Tropez and that I would not find this garment in the states. The price was 800 Euro which is more than 1000 dollars. Had I bothered to google this item, I would have discovered that this is an AMERICAN designer residing in the UK, and that this garment was readily availalbe on line at retail sites such as Net-A-Porter for $500 US dollars. I contacted the shop a number of times and they refused to accept a return, claiming that they had to pay a large import tax. VERY DISREPUTABLE. I was stupid for trusting these horrible people. Don't make my same mistake. Google every single item in that shop before making any kind of purchase. It's very sad that in this day and age when I so rarely purchase in stores that I had this gross experience, because when I will no longer purchase items overseas without thorough research. It's just too easy to buy whatever you want on line. Has anyone else had this experience? If so, please speak out. Below is the item which I paid so much for and which is so readily available.

The item was Melissa Odabash, Camillia Cream Lond Kaftan one size. I paid more than double for it.
