Chen Market — Local services in Paris

At around 1.30pm on Friday 01/03, the female cashier at the second counter from the door was really rude, she yelled at me instead of talking politely with a client. I wanted to pay my bill of almost 27 euros with 25 euros from my "ticket restaurant" and the rest by credit card but she scolded me and said it was impossible. I told her that so I would pay by my credit card but she kept yelling at me that it was not possible for the "ticket restaurant". After 4 attempts to explain her that i would pay by credit card and with her very angry, screaming tone towards me, I was finally able to pay for my shopping. I always love going to this location of Chen Market because it is close to me but this experience really ruined everything. PS: I wasn't even slow at the cashier when it was my turn because there was a long line of people waiting, but I still encountered her...

Below was my 5-star comment after the first visit, but unfortunately I had to change my mind after the second visit. Despite the location and variety of products, if the staff can't hold as equal fair attitude when facing Asian and Caucasian customers, there is something wrong in the customer service training here.

Normally I use the same chain but in Belleville. The location of this new supermarket is really convenient, with big selection of products. Also appreciate the fact that they did not set ridiculous prices for the location....

Une boutique que l'on ne viendrait pas chercher à deux pas des Galeries Lafayette et qui pourrait faire craindre le pire niveau tarif... ce qui n'est pas le cas puisque, même avec la crise actuel, ils ont eut la décence de contenir l'augmentation des prix. Du coup, ça reste toujours à peine plus cher que chez ses concurrents du 13ème (je note d'ailleurs que certains n'ont pas dû y aller depuis très longtemps car les prix y ont subit de fortes augmentations depuis 2015 !), ce qui est appréciable vu le prix au m2 du quartier.

Le supermarché est d'une taille raisonnable avec pas mal de produits frais (légumes, fruits, viandes, dim sum, etc.), des surgelés et un nombre non négligeable de produits secs (gâteaux divers, nouilles, aides culinaires, épices, sauces, etc.). Certes, il y aura plus de choix dans un magasin plus grand (certains semblent étonner... XD) mais à moins de ne connaitre de la cuisine chinoise que les nems de telle marque (très chinois, comme chacun sait), on y trouvera tout ce qu'il faut ! C'est d'ailleurs ce qui m'a surprit avec ce Chen Market...

Le service est le même que dans n'importe quel supermarché (asiatique ou pas) : minimal mais poli. Donc conseil aux curieux, venez avec quelqu'un qui s'y connait ou, soyez proactifs et aventureux, utilisez Google.
