The worst experience I have ever had at any Marriott Property ever. Autograph collection hotels are usually my favorite of the brand, I am at a loss for words for the unwillingness of the staff to help me as a titanium member. I booked a room and forgot to change the default of one person instead of two (my mother was with me it was her first time in Europe) we were staying in Paris one night. I booked this room using the pre-paid rate option Upon check in they noticed that their were two of us instead of one, and said that they do not allow two people in the room since I booked the room for one person. They also told me it was a twin bed, I thought it was a queen from the picture from the booking. Obviously at this point I realized I should of taken more care when booking the reservation but I was in a hurry and had been staying at different Marriott's the last few weeks. They refused to let my mother in the room with me and refused to give me a refund. They informed us that they were fully booked but would check on cancellations, then neglected to tell me they would still want me to pay for the original room on top of the cancelled room. They never acknowledged my titanium loyalty status or offered to ever try to find us a room at another hotel. I never ever got an sort of an apology for the situation. they told me if I wanted to find a different hotel to "call reservations" The confirmation email says nothing about only allowing one person in the room (I have literally never heard of this). The basic gist was that they could care less about my problem or the inconvenience this caused me but they were more than happy to keep my $350 that the room costs me. I also find it very interesting that they "have no way to modify" the reservation but the welcome email a few days before check in included that option.
Marriott customer service even called them and requested they provide me a refund for the room and they refused. I ended staying at the luxury collection near Arc de triomphe for 85,000 points.
If you want to stay at a good hotel in Paris skip this place and head over to the Luxury collection Marriott, every employee we encountered was an absolute pleasure and really made up for the horrible...
Read moreThis hotel fell short of expectations as a 5 star hotel. When paying the premium to stay at a 5 start hotel, my expectations are that everything will exceed my expectations and be executed flawlessly. Unfortunately that was not the case at this hotel and we experienced many operational problems. The hotel itself is nice, but due to their inability to execute their operations, I would not recommend this hotel.
The problems started at check-in. We reserved a premium room for 8 nights, but were told at check-in that they already sold out of all o f the premium rooms for the first night and we'd have to repack/unpack and change rooms the 2nd day, a big inconvenience. After getting to our downgraded room, they kept harassing us to come back down to the front desk because they forgot to process our credit card. I tried returning, but after seeing a long line and wanting to take a shower after a long flight from the US, I returned to my room. At that point they started calling and sending someone up to our room to make sure we were coming down.
Throughout the visit, the internet at the hotel was not reliable and constantly failed. On one of the days, we got an early start and left the hotel at 7am and returned at 4pm, to find our room has not been cleaned. They started pestering us at 4:30pm that if they wanted our room cleaned then, we had to let them do it then, as their maids were leaving for they day, even though they had the entire day to service the room. Not a good experience when super tired from spending all day out and about in the city and just wanting to relax in a clean room and needing to leave for them to service it.
When we booked the hotel, we prepaid through Expedia, which was inclusive of all taxes and fees. At checkout they insisted on charging us 53EUR for a "city tax" even though that I informed them that the rate I paid was inclusive of all taxes. I escalated this multiple times at the front desk and over email to their management, and they still refuse to issue a refund which has required me to escalate to Expedia and my credit card company for a dispute.
Not what I would call a 5...
Read moreStayed here for 8 nights with my spouse and loved it. Hotel staff was exceptional in their helpfulness, genuine interest and friendliness. An example: if it looked like rain, we were always offered umbrellas as we were leaving. I let the hotel staff know that my spouse and I were celebrating a significant wedding anniversary and we received champagne and chocolates our first night there! Our room was stylish, clean, well appointed and plenty big for our purposes (pleasure trip). Plenty of storage for our clothing and bags. Room amenities were great: fluffy robes, soft slippers, generous sized bath towels, good hairdryer, plenty of drinking glasses and free bottled water and toiletries that were replenished daily. Turn down service included straightening up, replenishing towels if needed, nice floor mats on each side of the bed and chocolates. The breakfast buffet was generous with a wide assortment of delicious food items. We thought it a bit overpriced so if you can get a deal with breakfast included, that would be great. Hotel was in a great, central location close to shopping, plenty of small restaurants and cafes and the Metro station. It was about a 20 minute walk to The Louvre and we never had trouble getting an Uber quickly. We would not hesitate to...
