Incredibly disappointing meal. Boiled egg starter was literally boiled eggs that are cut in half and smothered in mayo with paprika over the top.
My steak was chewy and clearly had been precooked - waiter insisted on medium for what I can only suspect was double cooking and/or a freshness concern. The fries were a disgrace to French frites. I am all but certain they were frozen.
The fish my wife had (wild sea bass apparently) was cooked to within an inch of being edible and not seasoned, the vegetables were just a soggy and sad pile of over cooked random vegetables and the red capsicum tasted off as an added bonus.
The waiters were so busy (2 of them running the whole dining room) that we got our bottle of water a few minutes AFTER we finished our mains - no, I’m not exaggerating or joking.
The menu makes no sense for a French bistro, it’s main chicken dish is finished in a THAI CURRY??? I knew that was a red flag.
87€ ($175 AUD) later and I’m just annoyed to be honest.
Anyway, all the best....
Read moreShamim and Shaquille were amazing, the food was spot on, just cooked to perfection. We had the supreme chicken with rice pilaf and Thai curry on side, Escargot, French onion soup, crème brûlée, Bordeaux and cappuccino. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with five star service. The restaurant was clean and ready to serve. The knives were facing 9 o’clock in my book etiquette table setting is very important. I’ve visited several restaurants during my stay in Paris and the Le Coppernic was the very first restaurant who actually knew how to place the silverware correctly. The crème brûlée came out with perfection, not burnt at all. I highly recommend this restaurant for those who desire a quaint special night. The prices are extremely reasonable. When you walk out of the restaurant, it leaves you wanting to come back and enjoy the other foods on the menu. I rate this place a 4 and...
Read moreIf you want a truly authentic French dining experience, you have to visit le Copernic without hesitation! It’s only a 10 minute walk from l’Arc de Triomphe. I ordered snails for the first time and omg the sauce is incredibly delicious with an elevating garlic sauce that I think was the best I’ve ever had. The texture is like eating muscles but doesn’t have a particular flavour. Next was the classic French onion soup. If you like comfort food, this should be your perfect pick! I was also surprised that the potion was so big considering it was a starter - but I wasn’t complaining. For mains, I ordered the cheese omelette with chips and salad which was also cooked very well and had the right amount of cheese to fully satisfy mu hunger for the next day. Again the portions were generous and the staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. If you try to speak French, they really...
